The Double-action Revolver is a weapon that appears in Red Dead Redemption 2, Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption online multiplayer mode.
The Double-action Revolver belongs to the Revolver weapon class, and it can be set in the Revolvers/Pistols weapon slot in Red Dead Redemption. An icon of the Old West, it's a semi-auto weapon.
Red Dead Redemption 2
The Double-action Revolver is set to appear in Red Dead Redemption 2 and likely in Red Dead Online. The weapon is part of a Grand Theft Auto Online, Red Dead Redemption 2 cross-promotion, which allows players to obtain the weapon in a secret Treasure Hunt mission that has been added to GTA Online with The Doomsday Heist update. Once the weapon is obtained in GTA Online, it will be available in Red Dead Redemption 2 by collecting it through the Social Club once the game is released.
Red Dead Redemption
The Double-action Revolver can be acquired in Red Dead Redemption in two different ways. The first is to clear the Tesoro Azul hideout and search for a chest inside it. The other way is automatic, as it's a reward for completing The Great Mexican Train Robbery.
The Double-action Revolver is one of the best revolvers available in the game, sporting high ammo capacity and more than decent firepower. The weapon is made obsolete, however, by rare revolvers, which are decidedly more powerful.
The Double-action Revolver is available in the Red Dead Redemption online multiplayer mode. The weapon is acquired automatically by reaching rank 16. Once the rank has been achieved, the weapon is available in the inventory. A gold variant of the weapon can also be obtained by completing the Double Death Dealer weapon challenges. The gold variant comes with no performance improvements, like other golde variants, as they only testify that the player has completed the weapon related challenges.
The Double-action Revolver is also available in the Undead Nightmare DLC. It's acquired in the same way as in the main single-player campaign, clearing the Tesoro Azul hideout but, this time, from zombies, and not from bandits.
- The Double-action Revolver is based, like many other Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2 weapons, on a real weapon, the Colt New Model 1892 Army & Navy Revolver.
- The Colt New Model 1892 Army & Navy Revolver was designed in 1892 and produced until 1908. The first model was given the New Army and Navy name after being adopted by the U.S. Army. Models following the 1892 model were produced with improvements suggested by officials of the Army.
- PlayStation 4 players received the High-Roller skin for the Double-action Revolver 30 days before Xbox One players.
