I actually played the game both before and after the patch (single player) and can safely say that the blurriness and more specifically faulty implementation of depth of field and focus HAS NOT BEEN addressed in this patch. Playing in 4k SS on a 1080p tv the picture is still blurry. playing 1080p on a 1080p tv the image is sharper but the motion blur depth of field issues are still there. There is no 30 % or 40% improvement. It is either fixed or not fixed. and in this case IT IS DEFINITLEY NOT FIXED. at this point I am fairly certain that this is not going to be addressed by R* so we just have to make do with what we have.

not really sure how someone can play this online with the existing blur, depth of field issues. I mean it's sometimes really difficult borderline impossible to see the enemies in the distance. How it is gonna play out is beyond me. I guess we shall see. on a different note, if this was UBISOFT or EA, imagine the amount of poop they would have gotten from public and media but R* are somehow getting away with it. talk about enchantment.

Not sure how this contributes in any shape or form to this topic.

I am starting to believe that they are well aware of this at Rockstar , however this was more of practical decision than artistic in order to achieve maximal performance on both platforms. I don't know much about performance/quality tradeoff but I believe this blurry, out of focus mess is something that if turned off, gonna have a negative effect in terms of performance on both platforms. I believe that is the main reason they incorporate it in the game. to give a performance boost. Otherwise they could have simply put an option in the setting to turn it off. makes sense: sharper the image=worse the performance.

Please read my previous post partner, I did mention that xbox one x looks better because it is Native 4k, nevertheless it suffers from the same issues or to use your term director's intent.

I feel like a lotta people are hypnotized into saying only good things about the game since its Rock*. Considering the technical side of things, there are considerable issues with this game even on XBOX ONE X version that has not really been addressed by the Major Media outlets such as Gamespot or IGN or even digital foundry. One such thing is the ridiculous depth of field and camera focus in this game even in the X version. I have been watching a lot of playthroughs online from the One X version and this out of focus problem occurs specifically when the character goes indoors. Granted, One X version benefits from 4k resolution and does not end up looking as bad as pro but this issue is still there and I have yet to see anyone address it on the One X version. All are singing praises of this game and no body is willing to admit these issues. Some contribute this to the artistic choice of the developer yet I don't get how blurry indoors due to faulty implementation of depth of field and focus is considered artistic when you need to squint your eyes in order to see what the heck is going on in indoor environments or keep holding the LT/L2 button in order to shift the focus from your character's shoulders to the background. The same occurs to a lesser degree with the mountains or trees in the background or any objects that is further than a couple of meters from your ingame character in the open. IT IS THERE ALSO ON THE ONE X VERSION but no body seems to acknowledge this. This game kind of reminds of MAFIA 3 at least in the graphic department. Example: just look how blurry the interior of the cabin gets as soon as Arthur steps in, the lights look blurry the wallpaper looks blurry, the table in the background looks blurry. THIS IS ONE X VERSION

Thanks for the taking the plunge I hope nothing bad or buggy comes up and hopefully it is a solution for the current situation until (if ever) it is sorted out by R*. Please keep us posted.

I don't have the game, waiting to see if this thing's taken care of before forking out 60 bucks. still doesn't change the question. Why haven't YOU tried it? aren't you one of the guys who experienced headaches due to blurriness to the extend of not being able to actually play the game? trying this new trick sounds like a better option than putting up with constant headaches

Funny how you lot keep complaining about the blurriness and how it made the game unplayable yet not a single one of you is willing to at least try to see if it works without the patch.

I does not mean losing all your progress. when you uninstall a game your save files wont be uninstalled unless you choose so. Plus you can upload your save files as a security measure.
