  1. thanks guys for the replies. it is still a constant for me. now going as far as a disconnect about every 10-15 mnutea even in free roam (btw when disconnected i lose everything on my horse). i suppose i am just gonna give it up. hopefully it works at a later date for me.
  2. creed79 proposed passive mode similar to GTAo. i do not agree entirely, i have seen many times where trolls are able to use passive mode in a variety of ways to impede enjoyment. i say however you log in is how you must stay. ie: i log in passive mode, i cannot switch out to kill soneone who is on a mission. disrput said mission, then slip back to passive mode so theyccannot exaxct revenge. so if you log in passive you must go to main menu, log back into the servers in normal mode. someone also commented that canuck is a leaderboard hound. cant/wont comment on that legitamacy. but to me being #1337 on any leaderboard is of ZERO importance as is "being good" or "competetive" that is not why i play games online. i play games online to enjoy adventures i never could in real life with friends from all over the globe. i should never, not ever, have to endure, for one minute, any bullsh*t from some punk kid to do that.
  3. exactly this.... in fact if you want to be a griefer you should in fact be forced to take on a toon that is super leveled from playing in a pve enviornment where R* has ensured they spent time and effort into it. and then they spank your little punk ass and should be able to loot everything including your hat, horse, and guns if you instigated the issue. because in real life if you run up on me i am going to shoot you, take everthing but your drawers, and take a piss on you, just for being stupid. in the current state of the game i get zero satisfaction from revenge and neither of us did anything but gain very little exp and waste alot of time. not to mention i can gank you, ruin your mission or whatever, leave the lobby and in two minutes spawn right back in a game in a completely different state. doesnt sound like immersion or really any fun at all to me.

My point is that if you kill for no reason you are an asshole, as of now free roam killing grants you nothing that you cannot get from playing matches with other like minded players. therefore having "open range killing" go unchecked you are going to run people out of the game. the people who are going to get run off are the ones i want to play with. so if the game remains in its current state, a lot of good players will not be playing. as it is now you will have the world as death match like you want and you will be playing with the 5-10%(mostly under 18) who agree that it is fun, while the rest of us move on. thats how online games die. unfortunatly we need to say our opinions over and over because devs make games in thier own vision so it takes 10 of us for every one that is happy to make them see the issues. i have no issue with your requesting it not be changed. but when i am able i will rebutle every argument you make to hopefully change the game to be something fun for me to play. after all not one of us paid $60+ so that others could have fun while we play and do not.
  5. i have only been able to complete one team mission and zero multi-player matches. right at the end of them i that i have tried, i notice that no one but me is moving, then i get a disconnect screen and a message that the issue is on rockstars end. i fully realize this is a beta so i am not upset just wondering if anyone else is experiencing as much difficulty in finishing missions. if so i assume Rockstar is aware and working on it.
  6. i agree mostly with McLaw. killing in free roam with no negative aspect is silly. it kills immersion, promotes a toxic enviornment, and also it is NOT A GRIND. as u get the same exp. kills in standoff as you do free roam. so there truly is zero argument for letting folks play online with friends while nit having to deal with douchbags. and yes i want growng hair/beards. as well as the trapper. working for a perfect pelt just for a few more dollars is not worth my time when i can easily butcher a dozen animals in far less time and turn a quicker profit. as an immersion gamer i prefer all my actions to translate to an in game function not just an achievement. especially if i have to duck griefers for hours while doing it.
  7. when you kill someone, player or NPC, the game aknowledges that you commited "murder" but there is no benefit or repurcusions to this most of the time as even getting a "bounty" goes away as soon as you die (an unpunished death). i suggest either a passive (pve) server or private rooms where its only open to invite and friends. (i believe GTAo has this fearure). there are hundreds of games to play if you just want to shoot people and have it mean absolutly nothing. as it stands now the whole map is just one big death match game. i agree with the others when i say i wont be playing if it continues to be nothing more than "CoD cowboys". an intersting idea might be to be able to place bounties (like GTA) or a jail system where basically you cant play cause your toon is in jail for "x" hours because you got caught being a dickhead. while i know execution of these systems is complex and takes time. this is a beta so maybe if we continue to put our thoughts out there rockstar will make attempts to move away from grief supporting systems to a system that punishes players who just want to slow progress of others for thier own enjoyment. remember this is a BETA. the dual purposes being, to figure out what is broken and get feedback as to what people play and how. i think amongst adults (the people with money to buy the game) we want a western adventure with our friends far more than we want to "compete' against people we dont know. these are just my thoughts on this topic. agree or dont and go ahead and post thats what betas are for.
  8. generally, for most games "lock on" will follow a moving target from as soon as you aquire it until you let go of the aim button, where as "aim assist" will find the closest target to the reticle at the time you press it but if said target moves you would have to let go and aim again or follow it manually. most of the time i play games with both all the way off if i can. not so much for realism but more for comfort. i prefer to choose my own targets and change with out coming out of "aim" but thats just me.
  9. i have had no issue with either removing pelts or selling directly from my horse. sounds like a bug. on another note but throwing it on here is... has any one seen or does anyone know of a trapper online? i have looked, though not extensivly, for one to no avail.
