Twisticles

OK I'm not going crazy. I can't figure out how to change ammo type either. I've bought all different types, but can't use it. However, I'm only on chapter 3, so maybe it unlocks later in the game? I did get the hint from somebody (I think on the grizzly hunt) about using different types, but still can't actually do it.
