FINALLY a fix for this horrible bug - turns out its deleting local files in profile and settings. Somehow something gets saved in the cloud that bugs your metal dectector, shovel, flowers, maps etc. Getting a new set of files for documents - profile and settings just fixed this for me. PC fix is 3:02 min into the video.

I play on PS4 and PC and the support for the PC for these collector bugs is really bad. I've been playing the past three months and the metal dectector has only worked once. The other bugs related to this like not being able to open collector maps, not see eggs, not see shovel sites or see any flowers to pick are very frustrating. I've tried multiple sessions, different PCs and still the bug plagues my gaming experience. Maybe Rockstar could rotate the items that are buried to help alleviate the missing hairpins at least.
