I wish there was a way to set up a campsite in the exact spot you pick and not like you mention put you in a reasonable location. I found a nice spot to camp to be able to hunt and bring back animals but when it finished setting up camp I was placed up in a mountain not near where I wanted to be... wish they can patch that.
