Can't (legally) ride trains and stagecoaches in real-time?

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I haven't found an option to sit back and enjoy the ride through this beautiful world. This seems like a large oversight on R*'s part. I love this game and the realism that it conveys, but why isn't there a way to buy a ticket for the train or stagecoach and then have the option of riding it the whole way to your destination? I understand the need for these modes of transportation to be able to function as fast travel options, but it should be optional like in previous R* titles. In RDR 1, we were able to ride the stagecoaches in real-time if we wanted or skip the journey all together, same goes for taxi rides in GTA 4 and 5. Considering the detail that they have put into the train car's interiors, it just feels implausible that this isn't an option.

You can get on the train when it enters a station and sit down, then switch to cinematic mode. I haven't bought a ticket yet but by the sounds of it it skips to the destination, but f you just climb aboard you should be able to sit and enjoy the ride. Another option is to just ride your horse in cinematic mode.
