Bug on blessed are the peacemakers pc

Hi, im stuck on blessed are the peacemakers and cannot progress due to what seems to be a gamebreaking bug. Im on the part where you have to heat up the file with the candle im using a controller and pushing the left stick left and right just as it prompts and it never lets me do anything else ive been trying multiple things like restarting the game and sh*t. ive even just sat there rotating the knife over the candle for like 15 min just to see if it would finally work and nothing happened. Im pretty mad about this and just want to play this amazing game. any help is appreciated

Are you pushing the left trigger left? Have you tried pushing down on it while doing this? I mean it should happen pretty fast. If this doesn't work, try another controller if that is an option. If all else fails, let Rockstar know about the issue. This seems a bit odd that it isn't working for you.
