RDR2 Control Button Problems

I have played this game for years and have completed it many times. The other day I started a new game but as I started to play the controls were different than what I have always played with. The L1 & L 2 buttons used to be L1 -Aim and L2 - Weapons/Items and Interact but they are the other way around now. Also the R2 button used to be fire and it doesn’t work anymore at all. The R3 look stick every time I try using it quick fires and the mission fails. Also the down button on the directional button does not work at all but the up, right and left buttons all work.

It sounds like you need a new controller. After you get one, go to the settings and rearrange the controls to how you remember it. I don’t see any other options.
