I'm Stuck

I'm in chapter 3 and on the mission "Blessed Are The Peacemakers" and I'm where Arthur is cauterizing his shoulder wound and where you raise the candle which I have done but on the next step where you press A (XBOX) to cauterize , when I press A and even tried multiple times nothing happens? So far I've tried dozens of times to cauterize and even quit the game and came back to the same place in the game and still can't cauterize only just lift the candle and that is it!  Any idea's anyone, has anyone had this problem? Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Borrowing a post kinda from 2019 I think if it looks familiar. Sorry "Ole Man". Thanks

I think you have to heat the file first. Have you done that? Else it won't let you do anything. There should be a candle near by if I remember correctly and you tap whatever button is says then he will rotate it over the flame.

It doesn't give me that option. I just have to press the Left joystick lever thing up and when prompted press the A button.
