Dreamcatchers Location Guide

The Red Dead Redemption 2 story mode features several different collectibles that require players to travel all over the world in search of them. Dreamcatchers are not required to complete any stranger mission.

In this guide, we look at what the Dreamcatchers are and where to find them.

Dreamcatchers Overview

Dreamcatchers are some of the hardest collectibles to find in Red Dead Redemption 2's story mode. They are found on special trees scattered all over the New Hanover, Lemoyne and Ambarino regions. Once all 20 have been found, they reveal the location of a unique item.

While Dreamcatchers can be difficult to find, there's a feature that makes the search a little less frustrating. The controller will start vibrating when you get close to one of them, making it easier to pinpoint its location.

New Hanover

Most of the Dreamcatchers can be found in the New Hanover region: 14 of the 20 can be found in this region.

1

The first Dreamcatchers are located very close to the "N" in Heartlands on the map. Search for a lone tree in the nearby clearing to find them.

2

The second set of Dreamcatchers can be found to the northwest of Flatneck station, near the intersection in the road. The correct tree is near a ridge, and it's not too difficult to spot, as it's the only tree in the area.

3

The third set of Dreamcatchers can be found to the west of Caliban's Seat, as seen in the image. If you're coming from Caliban's Seat, you will find the tree with the collectibles on your right a short while after the intersection in the road.

4

This set of Dreamcatchers can be found near Lucky's Cabin, which is located a little to the south of the "E" in Valentine on the map. If you're coming from Valentine, you will find the tree on your right.

5

The fifth set of Dreamcatchers is found to the east of Valentine and to the north of Citadel Rock, very close to the bridge that goes over the train tracks in the area. The tree is found above the bridge, overlooking it.

6

This set of Dreamcatchers is found a little to the northeast of the Horse Outlook, where the Van der Linde gang camp is located in Chapter 2. The tree is found precisely in the gap between the "N" and "E" in New Hanover on the map, close to the "E". It may take some time to spot the correct tree, as there are multiple in the area: use the controller's vibration as help.

7

The seventh set of Dreamcatchers is located very close to the Heartland Overflow, with is, in turn, located in the gap between the "A" and "N" in New Hanover on the map. The tree is located to the south of the Heartland Overflow and to the north of Guthrie's Farm.

8

This set of Dreamcatchers can be found on a tree that's located right inside the "O" in New Hanover on the map. This tree can be hard to find since it's found among many others, so use the controller's vibration to help you locate it.

9

The ninth set of Dreamcatchers is found right to the north of the "B" in Bluewater Marsh on the map. The tree is located very close to the interaction in the road right past the train track. If you are coming from the west, the tree will be to your right.

10

These Dreamcatchers are found on a tree located to the south of Elysian Pool, right to the east of the second "E" in New Hanover on the map. Like in other areas, the right tree is hidden by vegetation, so use the controller's vibration to guide you toward it.

11

This set of Dreamcatchers is found to the south of the "S" in Annesburg on the map. If you're coming from the south on the road, you will find the three right in the middle of the road on your right.

12

The twelfth set of Dreamcatchers is found not too far from the previous one. The tree with the collectibles is located to the south of the "U" in Annesburg on the map: from the road coming from the south, turn east and proceed for a while until you see a lone tree to your right.

13

This set of Dreamcatchers is located right above the "N" in Annesburg on the map. The three is found close to the intersection in the road, and it's not too difficult to spot as it stands alone.

14

The final Dreamcatchers set found in the New Hanover region is located to the north of the "E" in Annesburg on the map. Proceed north of the letter on the main road until you pass the third intersection. The tree is found near the Kamassa River.

Lemoyne

There are only two Dreamcatchers sets in the Lemoyne region, so you will clear this region very quickly

1

The first set of Dreamcatchers found in the Lemoyne region can be found to the south of Emerald Station. Get past the point where the train track and the road intersect and proceed a little to the south. The tree is standing in a clearing, so it's very easy to spot.

2

The second and final set of Dreamcatchers in Lemoyne is found to the north of the gap between the "M" and "O" in Lemoyne on the map, to the north of Lonnie's Shack. Just cross the road to the north of the shack and you will find the tree right ahead of you off the road.

Ambarino

The final four sets of Dreamcatchers are found in the Ambarino region.

1

The first Dreamcatchers set in Ambarino is found to the south of the "S" in Grizzlies West on the map. You can spot the tree among a few others by going off the road coming from the south of the "S".

2

This set of Dreamcatchers is a bit harder to find as there are no reference points. Locate the Dakota River on the map, and then north of the "T", past the train track and the road. You should find the tree right in front of you after going north off the road for a short while.

3

The third set of Dreamcatchers in Ambarino is found to the south of the "R" in Ambarino on the map, and slightly to the north of the train track to the south.

4

The final Dreamcatchers set is located to the northeast of the "O" in Ambarino in the map, right to the south of the Loft. Use the controller's vibration to guide you to the correct tree.

Rewards

After finding each Dreamcatcher set, Arthur draws its location on its notebook. And after finding all of them, the connected dots are in the shape of a buffalo, but one of them is not connected: the one above Elysian Pool.

Head to this location and enter the cave behind the waterfall. Use a lantern and then proceed through the cave until you reach a big open area. Here, go to the right and climb up the edge to see a buffalo painted on the wall.

Inspect it to receive the Ancient Arrowhead, which will grant you a permanent perk that decreases the stamina bar consumption when using the bow and arrows.
