Weapons Discounted In Red Dead Online

Rockstar isn't releasing new content for the Red Dead Online beta this week, but has instead activated some limited promotions to tide players over. Not even new clothing items have been added though, making this one of the smallest weekly events ever - what could Rockstar be working on in the background?

This week, all Red Dead Online players can enjoy a 25% discount on all weapons in the game when bought from fences. Beyond costing less, these items have also had all of their rank requirements lifted, meaning an absolutely fresh character can access every weapon, provided they have the money to buy them.

Additionally, this is a great week to pimp out your horse as a 25% discount also applies to all saddles and horse care items. Your horse is more than just a vehicle in Red Dead Online - they're a companion and ally who also need attention and care. Don't let finances get in the way of that.

Two minor discounts pale in comparison to even the least momentous weekly events we've seen in Red Dead Online to date. The last time when no new limited clothes were added, older items were put back into circulation for a second round, but not even that has occurred here.

Considering how small this week's event is, it suggests that Rockstar might be working hard on a larger update.

We've seen run-downs of planned features a few times now with many of those still on the way, so a larger Beta Update dropping next week, or the week after, seems very likely. The game is in need of new content seeing as many players are unhappy with the features it currently supports, and if it is to maintain momentum Red Dead Online needs to keep its player base.

We're excited to see what the developers have in store for Red Dead Online in the near future.
