She is a major character in Red Dead Redemption and the Undead Nightmare DLC and a central supporting character in Red Dead Redemption 2. Meta Information

Abigail Marston is voiced by Sophia Marzocchi in Red Dead Redemption.

She is revealed to be illiterate during the events of Red Dead Redemption, unlike her husband and son.

Abigail was born as Abigail Roberts in 1877, making her 22 years old during the events of Red Dead Redemption 2.

During her time with the Van Der Linde Gang, she often slept with all members of the gang, eventually falling in love with John Marston. Their first son, Jack was born when she was only eighteen, followed by an unnamed daughter who dies before 1911.

Following a botched bank robbery in 1906, where John was left to die by the other members of the gang, Abigail, Jack and her husband fled, leaving the gang forever. John purchased farmland on Beecher's Hope in West Elizabeth, hoping to create a better life for him and his family.

Events of Red Redemption 2

Abigail is set to appear in Red Dead Redemption 2 as a supporting character. She is described as a strong, straight-talking woman who has seen a lot of life and knows what it takes to survive against the odds.

Events of Red Dead Redemption

Abigail and her son Jack are abducted by Edgar Ross and agents of the newly created Bureau of Investigation in 1911. The kidnapping forces John to seek out and eliminate his former gangmates Bill Williamson and Dutch van der Linde in order for her wife and son to be released. Abigail received sexual advances, as she hints later to John, while in captivity, but it didn't end well for who dared, and no one else tried.

Eventually, Abigail is reunited with John at their ranch, and she criticizes him for having left her and her son. Confronting John about his possible rejoining of the gang, he assures her that his old life was over. Their life proceeds normally for a few days, with Abigail complaining about some of the difficulties of farming, such as crows attacking the silo until the ranch is assaulted by Edgar Ross and soldiers of the U.S. Army.

Uncle is killed during the first assault, while Abigail, Jack and John manage to escape in the barn. Realizing that the situation was hopeless, John forces his son to ride away with his mother, with whom he shares the last moment of tenderness and a final kiss. After John's confrontation with his enemies, which leaves him dead, Abigail and Jack return to the ranch, only to find his bloodied body. Abigail is last seen mourning the loss of her husband.

Abigail Marston dies in 1914 at the age of 37 from unknown causes. Jack buries her on the ranch next to John and Uncle.

Events of Undead Nightmare

In the Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare DLC, Abigail appears first together with John and Jack in their house, talking about their everyday life. Soon after, they notice that Uncle hasn't returned home, with Abigail noting that he has probably taken shelter from the storm somewhere nearby.

Later, Uncle does come back to the ranch, but something has changed in him. He attacks Abigail and John while they are in bed, with John being forced to hit Uncle with a lamp, knocking him out. Abigail remains, disgusted at the man's bloody body, in the room, only to be bitten by him. John, returning to the room, shoots Uncle and tends to his wife.

There's little that John can do to truly help his wife, however, as she turned into a zombie herself. Her son Jack also gets bitten by Abigail while checking on her, turning into a zombie. To avoid having to hurt his family, John ties them with a lasso, leaving some food with them and venturing out to find a cure for their current condition.

Matt Stone

Ever since the original Red Dead Redemption was released back in 2010 and swiftly completed by Matt he has been eagerly anticipating another return to the Wild West. In Matt's totally non-biased opinion the story told in the sequel, Red Dead Redemption 2, is one of the best ever (at least as far as games go). And while some story DLC would be great, Matt isn't counting on it! Matt is on Twitter (but not really active).
