Even though I never skinned it?

So I finally got after a legendary I've been looking for. Found it, lined up and shot, just to see it roll off a rock into the deepest part of a ****ing river and sink like a rock. So it's obvious that I can't retrieve the pelt. Will it respawn if I don't skin it? It's a good one too dang it

So I finally got after a legendary I've been looking for. Lined it up. Shot it. And it rolled off a rock into the deepest ****ing part of the river and sank like a rock. Goodbye pelt. Will it respawn if I can't skin it?

I'm playing on Xbox and I think there's a way to check via the Xbox OS but it won't be 100% accurate if there is. Oh well

I also have come here to get away from reddit and the completely cancerous fb groups. Hopefully this will be better!

I can't seem to figure out how to check the total in game hours I've played. I've checked all the menus and sub categories. I'm sure it's in my face but If I could get a nod in the right direction it would be most appreciated.

I'm 70% done, taking my time. I've even done all the bandit challenges, I've had my bounty up to $550. I not once have had an issue with bounty hunters unless it was intentional. Pay your bounties, sell some wagons or something. Unless you're playing as a total irresponsible bandito mass murderer, I don't see how this is possible. I've heard this and similar complaints only from people who don't fully understand the game mechanics or who don't want to actually put the work in and play the game. This isn't GTA. I think a lot of people expected this to be gta but with horses, and that isn't how these games are. I most certainly hope Rockstar doesn't start changing things just for mass appeal.
