How can I go back to Guarma and get those exotic birds?

I find poison arrows work best at getting a perfect cougar pelt. But you guys have nailed down most of the best places to find them.

I did the same thing once and accidentally shot him in the chest. He came back after a while but always has the wound on his chest now. He just stands there with a gaping hole in his chest and acts normal. It's kinda funny.

Will there be another chance to locate the macaws if I didn't complete my checklist during the story? I hope I didn't miss the only opportunity to pluck that beautiful plumage. Are there more exotic animals that I missed?

Lately i have been looking for wild boar. Easy to find but it seems i spot more 3 star specimens in the swamps of Lemoyne than in locations near Strawberry.

How 'bout them elk skins? I could probably find them too, but what techniques work to bring them down, intact?

To start off, today I am trying to get that perfect iguana skin. I know where to find 'em now and I think small game arrows will work, one shot to the head (?)

Just droppin' a line in the water to get y'alls thoughts on tips for hooking the perfect fish or dropping that beast to yield the perfect pelt. The compendium is great for most of this knowledge, but I never went to college and I learn best from them who know. Share your (oleander) sage advice and detail ways to bag the best skins and places to find whatever your'n a huntin' fer.

I'm glad I am not the only person to have seen this majestic creature. I got close enough to pay him and even mounted him but he threw me off and wouldn't let me get close a second time. I'll get him one day, gotta keep trying, but I know where to look for him again. He seems to appear by himself, but ditto on the wolves.

Thanks Moosh89, I will try to reach Blackwater from the peninsula. Thanks for the tip, I kept trying to cross the river on one of the trails.

I have been playing regularly since the release and for about 2 weeks now, I keep playing and there are no story missions available. Except for the Javier Escuella mission in Blackwater. Of course I have tried a few times to reach Blackwater but it seems impossible. I have read in guides about the mission starring John Marston but have yet to see it offered at camp no matter how much I do. And it seems like I have done a lot...about 44% completion but still no missions. Do I need to keep trying to reach Blackwater or is there some other monumental achievement I should aspire to? Is there any way to turn the story back on? I am reluctant to start over from the beginning, I have a full stable of horses and lots of cash, a greatly upgraded camp and have done so many side missions. Any advice would be appreciated.
