  1. Sod being a do-gooder. FORTY SIX clean shots into the legendary Elk and the timer runs out as he sprints away like an athlete. This is a piss take by Rockstar and the feature is as big a joke as Harriet is . . . they should have warned us that they are moving into comedy. I value my gaming time and I'll not have some company waste it for me. Hunter here I come and my money says it's not going to take me 46 shots to kill the beast.
  2. I can do that, lol.
  3. Thanks. Now that makes for a far more interesting game, lol.
  4. Does that mean you CAN play both roles at the same time?
  5. There is plenty of scope with this subject and there are plenty of old buggers like me brought up on Westerns who would welcome it all. Rockstar have this knack for timing updates just when the gold is low - with the available goodies on a timed supply meaning we can't hang around to collect gold but have to buy some - so they could clean up with some more well timed additions.
  6. The Naturalist patch has brought with it totally opaque black lenses to my favourite brass rimmed glasses . . . hope this is something to be patched?
  7. Thanks, that makes a lot of sense. Found out that the shots kill small animals but good to have it confirmed and also the red X. Carry max reviver but didn't realise it brings xp. Do you know what would happen if you go to the limit with Harriet and then change to Hunter to get everything there?
  8. So, I'm on foot because riding, keeping up, and shooting on target is a complete no no. 6-7 hits in on a small deer and it's not even slowing down. My energy is gone and with the undergrowth and multiple animal trails I have no idea where the small deer is because there are no blood trails. If I get lucky and find it. it is still full of energy so bouncing around I just keep missing the shots. REALITY: I set up a hide where I know my subject will come to at some point. I take one, two at the most, shots and wait for the target to drop. ROCKSTAR: At least four shots to bring down a jack rabbit so don't even bother looking at anything bigger. This is a total fail by Rockstar . . . Hunter here I come.
  9. If we go the conservationist route what becomes of our Trader business if we can no longer kill animals?
  10. This is somewhat confusing and looked at one way could seem as if Rockstar are sabotaging their own game. To be a Trader we have to kill animals to supply Gus but to support Harriet we can't. However, we need to raise cash to play the game so even though I have sided with Harriet I'm thinking mayby play Harriet's game until I have all benefits and then change camp to Hunting. If nothing is done to make the knockout drops more potent and realistic I'll write off the gold paid to support Harriet - and even though I love animals I'd rather shoot Harriet as left wing liberals are always a pain-in-the-ass with their over-the -top; " I'm going to save the world " portrayal - because as it stands at the moment it's too bloody frustrating needing not only half a ton of darts but the impossibility of keeping up with the animals and being able to get a shot on target, particularly when your target animal frequently gets into a mix of a whole mix of other animals. Try bringing down an elk in all of that with a piss poor dart. Let's hope Rockstar patch a few tweaks here and there to smooth out the problems.
  11. Love the game and great new update. Just one complaint. We need the sedative to have more power because as it is it's a joke and so makes that element of the game a joke. Make it closer to real life and not some silly frustrating windup removed from reality. This game has so much going for it on an adult level - even the usual quota of idiots who get their rocks off trying to ruin the game for others can be excused because back then there were plenty of inbreds, otherwise known as Hillbilly or Backwoods Dumbasses - but making the pursuit of sedated animals into an unrealistic grind smacks too much of badly thought out aspects to a game and after following the fantastic growth of quality in Rockstar games it's a backward step they would be better off without. I'm a PC only guy and have been waiting and hoping for a long time to see RDR come to PC and the wait has certainly been worth it.
