That’s one of the complaints I’ve seen. Hunting is really affected by the blur. For example, trying to hit a buck from far away on the PS4 Pro, you’re aiming at a blob.

It’s up to you; my experience with other PS4Pro upscale games is that they are gorgeous and sharp. RDR2 just seems to have a bad implementation of upscalibg. For good examples, check out Assasins Creed Odyssey and God of War. Hope they patch this because it has the potential to lool as great as it does on the OneX

Thanks man! I went ahead and posted there as well. Imagine if everyone who posted here posted there as well!

This is giving me hope. We’ll see if they deliver.

Ok I went ahead and tried and it worked for me. Setting is already to max though. Turning it down to zero and the game looks even worse!! What heck is going on!
-
Weird! I don’t think the other gamers are lying so no doubt another bug. I’ve officially spent more time troubleshooting and seeking help than I have playing the game. Shame.

Found this on gamefaqs. I’m no longer near my PS4. Can anyone try it and see if it works? 1. BEFORE starting the game, set PS4 Pro to 1080p2. While ingame, set PS4 pro to 2160p RGB3. Go to Display Menu (notice a new setting called sharpness that was not their before)4. Enjoy the game how it was meant to look

Yeah the sharpness meter never shows up for me for some reason. Just tried it. Another bug!?
-
It’s not there for me still for some reason. Weird that it shows up after switching back to 2160! Any chance you could attach a screenshot? I swear that when I switch to 1080 and then to 2160 it still doesn’t show up for me and could be another bug to report to R*

Some players report a sharpness meter in the game menu but I don’t see it. The problem is the muddy and blurry textures and exaggerated depth of field that make everything blurry including the character. For instance: focus on something directly in front of you in real life. It’s sharp and clear right? Well now I’m RDR2, even the closest things are blurry AF. In cutscenes for example when the camera angel if right on a character, it still looks like youre viewing the game through a blur filter. And then anything behind the character is blurred ALOT. no wonder it’s giving some people headaches and eyestrain.

Will do! Will try later tonight. Am on us eastern time.

I have that exact same tv! Yeah I’ll try those out when I get a chance.
-
Interesting. So do i! I’d take a look at his picture settings under Settings > Picture (I think) > Expert Picture Settings and copy his settings.
-
Do you both have the same size TV?

Looky here. Rockstar has their own support forums. Maybe we should post this issue there? https://support.rockstargames.com/community/360000680454

Definitely not playing as much as I would if it looked good. I usually just play for about an hour before I get tired of the crazy depth of field and blurriness.
-
Yeah, that's what I saw too. It's amazing how one vague post on a forum suddenly gets reported as fact on various news outlets. We're still waiting for official acknowledgement. They haven't yet acknowledged the other big bug where camp settlers are dissapearing. I was wondering why John Marston and his family were never at the camp. Guess I'm being affected by that bug as well.

Whoa, Italian gaming news sites now reporting the severe blurring: https://game-experience.it/red-dead-redemption-2-gli-utenti-segnalano-dei-problemi-di-blur-per-la-versione-ps4-pro/

I play with Warm 2 setting on a Samsung NU55UN800. Looks the best for an old timey western feel
-
haha your signature! my sides!
-
Welcome! Yeah, RDR2 is an amazing game. I play it at night and about 7 feet away from the tv so the blurriness is not so obvious. I'm really looking forward to the checkerboarding and bluriness fixes. Welcome and let Rockstar know about your issue as well!

Wow, that user should have been more considerate. Ending was spoiled for me by Zanar Aesthetics on Youtube. Block him if you can, he spoils almost every game and Youtube spams his crap videos everywhere. The problem is his video titles contain major spoilers so you don't even have to watch the video to have it be spoiled. But be careful when blocking him as I think blocking requires one to go to their page on youtube.

Holy crap! did they spoil their own game or was it some other user posting on their twitter?
