So, I have the same issuess with blurriness. I´m from German. I think they must kick off the Temporal Antialiasing. TAA is blurring the graphics to much on lower resolutions as native 4k or native 1440 p. I have a lot of issues with that postprocessing antialiasing on pc on a lot of modern games. I Think the combination of a new resolution format of checkerboard rendering and the taa is the reason for this blurriness. I think they use dynamic resolution for Antialiasing. It is the same sh... on Odyssey on the PC with this antialiasing technique. On adaptive the antialiasing resolution will reduced and yyou become this unsharpen washed out effect on middle and on high drawing distances. I dont know why they use TAA with checkerboarding. You don´t need TAA on TV on higher resolutions. If you use premium cable and superresolution Technique on your TV. I have a LG 8500SK with Nanocell Technique and all my other games looking amazing with this TV on PS4 Pro. I´m Using the Belkin ULtra HD 2.1 Cable for best speed in processing the images and reducing input lag to zero in most games. It is a much better experience to play, but this game is really strange. In interiors like the saloon all looks washed out, when you moving your character. For me HDR isn´t the problem. Yes the pro Version has a contrast bug in HDR. You can use for LCD a brightness of 260 or higher and turn down your backlight of your tv. The strange thing is, the game looks on start razor sharp with default settings on start of the game. I it looks like vaseline on my screen in Cutcenes and on horseriding. Another problem is, why we have not the sharpen filter of the 1080p mode in the high resolution mode. This filter is a luma sharpen filter and it will not desroy the performance. I think they is some really wrong with the goldversion of the PS4 Pro. Another think is the installation size of the game. On my pro it takes 92,3 GB. Why is the one version so big? I think the best solution was they gave us native widescreen resolution with smaa antialiasing filtering. It looks good enough on most TVs. I hope a patch is coming soon. I´´´m not one of those guys that bash on the developper teams. The most of gamers do not know, how hard work it is to bring out games of this quality. I mean Odyssey for sure and Red Dead Redemption. But this is a problem that is more, than a quest bug or a texture glitch or anything else. I,m a big fan of digital foundrys game analyses. This guys are experts and very professionell in analysing. I hope they talk with rockstar to find a solution for this bad implementation of taa and checkerboard rendering. No the pro is´nt to slow to handle this better. You can see that on Odyssey, Horizon Zero Dawn or the Witcher. Or look at Ghost Recon Wildlands and this is a Multiplayer Game and it runs fine and the graphic is not poor.
Razor sharp is wrong. Razor sharp is not a factor of good image quality. It looks heavily detailed on all distances. ...For two seconds. And yes I hate two strong looking motion blur effects and depth of field too. This effects are good for cutcenes or finish moves, but not for world exploring.
