New to Red Dead

Hey guys,

 I saw the trailer and the walkthroughs released by rockstar and instantly became a fan of the game. I didn't play the previous game and probably won't considering that I'm going to be playing this game for a while. I was just wondering if there are any more like I, late to the party?

Also for those of  you that are familiar to the franchise, anything I should know ?

If you would like to know the story before playing the game, here is a 11 minute video telling you the entire story of the previous Red Dead Redemption game. However, the new game (Red Dead Redemption 2) is a sequel, so if you watch the video and know the story, this game takes place before the original Red Dead Redemption game, so there is a lot of back story that this game offers previous from the original. 

Watch this video to learn the full story of the original Red Dead Redemption so your caught up and know what's going on, considering you said you probably won't go back and play the original game.
