you  have to wait for the next patch, some effects like motion blur are easy to fix,

just played the game with the option "following camera off", really helped, huge difference but not perfect.

 

less blur = no hdr, no multisampling, no following camera,

If someone want play another really good open world title on the pro play Assassins Creed Odyssey. This game is so smooth in control and in frames.

Best open world titles for me:

-The witcher 3 wild hunt

-Assassins Creed Odyssey

-Assassins Creed Origins

-Horizon Zero Dawn

-Elex

I will wait now for the patch. At the moment Assassins Creed Odyssey is the better game for me .

Yes, I could agree with you. This is the best interactive world in videogame. And overall looking the best, but not the game. Control is for me not a top notch control. Control is to clumsy. I´m not a big fan of the characters that rockstar are creating in his games. Ok Arthur is a real outlaw with all attitudes. This is the best charakter that you can play in a rockstar game.

I hate the ghetto slang of the GTA titles. This is Tarantino style. A lot o charakters in Tarantinos movies and in Rockstars Games are exxagerated. I like it if one or two chars are crazy but not all of them.
I like the style of charakters in the witcher 3 and horizon zero dawn a lot more.

Rockstar mirroring our world in a exxagerated style. With a lot of violence and dirty talking.

But the games are to near to reality for me. I can´t play trevor in GTA V. This was the reason why I´ve cancelled GTA V

Violence Level in Red Dead Redemption is a bit lower.

 

No I think to give us the option to turn off motion blur and depth of field is not that difficult to integrate it.  The sharpen slider must be a bug, why it is not integrated in the 4k mode. but I like depth of field in cutsceness. Photographical or cinematic effect.

 

Now I give the game a break and look on X-Mas which problems are fixed. Playing Odyssey will keep a while.

Can someone ttest this configuration on his LG Tv? I´ve tested this config on my LG and alll runs better and looks better. The HDR of red dead lokks now like the trailer hdr. The hdr is not the blur problem. Thanxs for the guy that found this on reddit.

Strange. I  think with the limited setting and a good cable the tv uses a different yuv Level for thee hdr. Other titles will blows you away with this settings.

RDR2 has no real HDR. You can't fix this by TV settings.

It seems to be that this i postprocessing hdr. The washed out colours are gone with this settings. Than this is another reason for image blur.

THey use a lower framebuffer for HDR on the Pro. This is software hdr, like in Oblivion or the first far cry fp 16 or fp 32 software hdr

 

Can anybody say me, how ican produce a good video without deranging colours and good quality in 1080p. The plastation share video function deranging the colours and the compression quality is to bad.

I cannot sleep if rockstar fixing this bug, because of all other games looking so beautifull. It is a problem of my self. I want 100 Percent from software and hardware. The same in my real job. This is a big fail. I´m a perfectionist

I´m feeling bad and angry if I can nothing more do.

 

I have modded on the monaco track of F1 2014 over 1000 hours. On the editing lighting and effects mod the same time. This was my work for 2 years. Codemasters using some of my reworked textures and some of my lighting in F1 2017

I´m proud of this but angry too.

We need for the graphical issues first the sharpen slider.

This fixes a lot of the blur

The Problem is, I must use my HDMI_ARC POrt 4 that this work.

Here are two videos that I created

One video present a cutscene and the second a gunfight actionscene.

The game is now playable and looks like how it looks in the trailers

 

I put now a installation guide into the first commentary in the video

This video uses the 4k mode of the ps4 with hdr - first set your rgb level in the sound and screen settings to limited or in german begrenzt - the tv is now using the higher hdr compression in hdr games - set the resolution to 1080p firstly, because you must start the game in this mode, while only the 1080p mode has the setting for sharpness -When your game is started go to the settings\display settings menue of the game. Now you see a sharpen slider - set the sliderbar to highest sharpness -switch back to your settings of your ps4 -do not close the game only switch with the ps4 button on the controller to the ps4 desktop and go to settings/sound and screen -set the resolution to automatic and switch back to the game -set in the settings menu of your tv the blacklevel for hdr to low -set the blacklevel for sdr to low I´m using the game mode Enyoy now the game The first fix we need is the sharpen slider Thanxs al the guys fro @t and the guy fromreddit that helped.

People are not understanding the HDR issue. The HDR mode IS BROKEN, so no TV settings will fix it. In the current state, SDR will ALWAYS look better than HDR in RDR2.

When you open the game in 1080p it stays in 1080p no matter what you change whilst the game is still running. The HDR has been proven to be "fake" I don't see a fix happening for HDR because RDR2 was made with SDR being the priority. I'm seeing alot of the same information posted from you  that isn't helping anybody and rants that go on and on for pages.

no the resolution is different. This is no 1080p. All is much more detailed and looks now like in the trailer for me

I did not see any difference with the camera change. Only viable solution is to run the game in 1080p and with supersampling disabled. And that's not going to change everyone's biggest problem, the blur and loss of sharpness as you move the camera sideways. I'm using google translator, forgive me if you do not quite understand what I'm saying

For the love of god. I think I need to make some clarification here:

1. HDR IS BROKEN AND WILL NEVER BE FIXED - Game was made for SDR. You can't fix this by messing with TV settings. Turn this off
2. Motion blur is different to the extreme bluriness of the game that PS4 Pro users in 4K are encountering. This happens only when you move the camera as its name says "Motion blur". This is on both Xbox and PS4 versions of the game.
3. Only way to fix blurry view  on Ps4 Pro for now is to uncheck SS in video options and force 1080p. There is no other GODDAMN fix so stop posting some silly TV settings pretending them to be a fix for all your problems.  Yes I am also playing at 1080p now because on 4K blur is so intensive that it gives me headaches and no, I don't know when they will fix it.

Yes, but motion blur is too aggressive, and with TAA it gets even worse. I hope for an option to disable motion blur, which I believe will never happen

HI Guys, I am new to the forum and just signed up and I did this to contribute to this topic. I must say that I to am very surprised and shocked how this all went down with RDR2. The game was very hyped and now it all seems that the game isn't as good (technically) as many believe it is. It might be good on some areas, but to promote a game like that with HDR and 4K, thus later on appears to be fake HDR, is a grave mistake. Most of the reviews I saw or read, never mentioned this at all. You see, most people won't notice it because A) they can't see the difference or B) don't care that much.

Also on this forum there seem to be a couple of posters that like to troll with these things or even claiming they work at Rockstar (this still needs to be proven). It is a real issue and should be address by RockStar ASAP, not only for them self, but more so for all those buyers that feel let down. So please stop posting TV settings that although it could change the look a bit, will never fix the real issue. It is like taking pain medication for something that needs to be addressed with surgery! A work a round for the time being!

I have the game (Ultimate Edition for PS4) and yes I pre-ordered it, but if they won't fix these issues then I will resell it. I don't own a PS4 nor Xbox, but I would like too, yet the way this went down with RDR2 is so very unprofessional. I am disappointed in them and there product and it appears that either A) they don't care and won't fix it (soon) or B) they are working on some big patch that will fix most. Personally, I think there priority is the online part of the game, not the graphics or look of it. As many mentioned, other games have implemented there upscalling and HDR implementation correctly. Spiderman for instance!

So this is not a PS4 issue, but a game issue! They focused on the wrong things with this game in my opinion and because they sold and will continue to sell so many copies of the game, I fear they don't care that much about technical issues a portion (the smarter amount) of people are experiencing. Also the fact that some support people at Rockstar act like they don't know what we (consumers) are talking about, is an strong sign they A) don't care or B) try to cover it up.

I read somewhere they didn't want to use actors that are very famous because of ego troubles. But yet I know Rockstar is known as being a very arrogant company that thinks the world of them self and do things they want, not how we want them. RDR2 is the latest example of how things go with Rockstar and I can only say that I hope for all of use they will officially acknowledge these HDR/blurr/upschale/antiallising issues ASAP!

Ok I receive a warning, yes it is stoopid and stoopid from myself to post tv settings. It is the frustration about this game. I have a digital copy of the game. I can´t sell the game. If I could I would do it.

Not only the graphical issues destroying the game for me. When you must shoot a bandit 5 times and more in his head and he runs to your NPC and kill him. This is really frustrating.
I hope for you all they fix it. I will not post anything more about this game.
Another strange thing is for me. As I posted the two videos with blur fix all looks okay and fine. For a few hours I started the game again and a ll was washed out and blurry. The control gives me lesser response and it is not playable again. I will give this game a second chance in a few month or a half year. But this is not ok.

 

The chief of rockstar must be one of the most arrogance softwarebosses in the whole software company. Narcicm seems to be strong. Is it really a game I have not real fun with it. Is it really a open world game it is to linear for me for a open world game.

If I could get back the digital copy I would do it. I think the first episode was a way better game. No re release for ps4.

Hello, you are free to post and discuss the game issues, tv settings will not fix the game.

The best thing we can do is disable hdr, play in 1080p and disable the following camera.

For me I paused the game now. I have a lot more fun with odyssey. I will look everyday to the thread, but  not posting anymore.

Turn off boostmode is a placebo. No difference but more stuttering in some areas. I´m only relaxing now in the game go fishing or take a ride with my horse brownie. 

Watching the beautifuul night effects. The blur in the night is not so responsible.

I finished the game, even with all problems I think there is no reason to simply leave the game aside, the game is much better than that! Of course I was frustrated in many parts, especially in the middle of the game where the problems get worse. I will play again and hopefully this time with less problems.

I think at is time that rockstar games give us us a compensation for the fail. Was it microsoft that enhanced red dead redemption  on xbox one x?

Yes on the x all is sharper, but for me one x playing isn´t so smooth like playing on a ps4 pro. 30 frames are more like 30 frames on a windows pc without g-sync or free sync.
I had a lot of synchronizing crashes on the x. With red dead redemption 2 too. Autosaves not working correctly.

It is no comfortable gaming for me. It is not a real console for me it is more a mini pc.

I see now the metacritic score. I hate metacritic, but you can see on the score how the game was pushed from the magazines. Some of the users of metacritics gives a lower score,because of the blur issues and clumsy control. The control is better on sonys machine.

DExtor can you post this pics on the support community thread of the social club. This two pics shows really good the blur on the pro. This looks like a downgrade in the forestscenes. The blur is so heavy in forests.
