Rdr2 graphics blurry PS4 Pro

Is anyone else having issues on the PS4 pro with blurry graphics. I am having issues on my PS4 pro (I’m using a lg oled) and the middle to long distance graphics are terribly blurry. The strange thing is it seems to fix itself dependant on the time of the day

i have seen a reddit post with other users complaining about the same thing and it’s possibly due to the PS4 not being able to display in true 4K. Apparently the Xbox one x dosent have this blurry issue

has anyone else experienced this and is rockstar going to fix it?

If you are using a PS4 Pro, make sure your using the right TV for the display. If you have a standard 1080p display and your trying to get 4K out of the game, it will look funky.

I have a 4K LG OLED. Strange thing is after a while it’s gone and ends up looking like the best game ever made. So it’s either a lighting issue at certain times or the PS4 checker boarding is taking a while to kick in

Yeah I'm honestly not sure.

PS4 Pro was confirmed to be using some kind of checkerboard rendering.

Xbox One  X is native 4K.  I have not experienced any blurring issues (XB1X).  Playing on an LG B7 OLED.

Have the same issue. Pro with sony x900f and whenever I turn it seems to blur terribly and gives me a headache if I play too long. Going straight seems ok. So disappointing. Turning HDR off helped a little bit but none of the other settings seem to do anything. I hope they can patch this.

I'm noticing the same thing. It's like the whole game is slightly out of focus. It's not terrible, but it's noticeable and I'm sometimes finding myself squinting. I just submitted a complaint to Rockstar support and linked them to this thread and that Digital Foundry video that goes into detail on the odd checkerboard rendering technique they're using for this game. I really do hope the Dev team is listening and are aware of this problem. This has got to be one of the bluriest PS4 Pro games to date. Damn Shame.

It’s not the graphics it’s the HDR in game if your playing on a ps4 pro or one x others have noticed the blurry gameplay and it’s caused by HDR if you have an HDR compatible TV turn it off for now until Rockstar finds a patch

That's not the case for me. Disabling HDR doesn't make the blurriness go away. The blurriness is purely caused by the bad checkerboard rendering they're doing (watch the video above). I expected much more from Rockstar.

I'm in the same boat, emailed rockstar support but no answer as of yet. Dissabled hdr that made no difference, turned my ps4 to 1080p and its alot clearer. I think it's the checkerboard upscaling and the post procceing effects like depth of field that are making it a fuzzy mess. Give us the option to turn off effects and run non upscaled at maybe 1440p.

No issue whatsoever on my xb1x, use a 4K monitor .. no blurring at all ..

Maybe read the headline this is about the extreme noise on the PS4 Pro ..it even says PS4 Pro in the title ….we know that the Xbox One X version is fine already.

I contacted them as well. It's far beyond just turning off HDR off. I think people that think that it looks fine or even switching to 1080p with super sampling just do not understand image quality. This is completely unacceptable. I had to play on my small 28 inch 4k monitor because the image has so much noise that I can not stand looking at it.

I would recommend commenting on Twitter post from official Rockstar as well.

After watching the digital foundry video I don’t think they’ll be able to fix it I think it’s just the way it uses the pros upscaling

the whole thing is a joke the PS4 is meant to be the lead console and it’s a mess I’m not enjoying the game because I’m constantly looking at the blurry textures

I am on a ps4Pro with 55” LG C6 OLED. Same problem. But not as bad as some of the pics I’ve seen posted!!! (Ross101, that looks WAY worse than what I’m seeing.)

I'm not seeing pixelated fuzz, I’m not seeing motion stutter, tearing or latency... just blurry sometimes.

And at different distances like it doesn’t know where to focus..

Uncharted 4 in 4K hdr looks better than this... (clarity and HDR-wise)

Rockstar you need to acknowledge this openly. Because all the footage I saw that was supposed to be PS4 pro before launch looked a LOT better.

this isn’t good for Sony. And it’s just kinda underhanded feeling from them and R*.

Im pretty disappointed.
