PH4NTOM4 Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 Hey guys . Ive been following this thread for a while now and this is my first post! So did anyone try installing the game without the patch? did it improve anything? how come non of you lot has tried this yet? cant be that all of you have bought the digital version???

PH4NTOM4 Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 I does not mean losing all your progress. when you uninstall a game your save files wont be uninstalled unless you choose so. Plus you can upload your save files as a security measure.
PH4NTOM4 Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 (edited) Funny how you lot keep complaining about the blurriness and how it made the game unplayable yet not a single one of you is willing to at least try to see if it works without the patch. Edited November 18, 2018 by PH4NTOM4
GordoDeAzul Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 Hey guys, have been a lurker for a while, when I saw the theory that without the patch the game would look better, I decided to try it out. Guess what, after playing a while to check if it wasn't placebo, it actually does look better. Looks like something went wrong in the 1.02 development. 1

I don't have the game, waiting to see if this thing's taken care of before forking out 60 bucks. still doesn't change the question. Why haven't YOU tried it? aren't you one of the guys who experienced headaches due to blurriness to the extend of not being able to actually play the game? trying this new trick sounds like a better option than putting up with constant headaches Edited November 18, 2018 by PH4NTOM4
0ldKen Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 I’ve not been home long enough in the last 2 days. Also want to make sure it won’t glitch out and not allow my saved game to operate properly... thats a few hours of uninstal and reinstal that I haven’t had time for. my girlfriend leaves for work soon and I am home today if nothing else comes up I’m going for it. and Ph4ntom4, you are the smart one out of us all! You waited.
0ldKen Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 And Gordo... when you say better.... like slightly better, or WOW that is very sharp and smooth better?
0ldKen Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 (edited) I’m gonna give it a go. Edited November 18, 2018 by 0ldKen
hornet66 Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 Pop a usb stick into the ps4 and download your saves onto it.Go into settings, application save data, copy to usb device. I cant say ive noticed this blur issue on my launch pro but my eyesight is not brilliant anyway! 😄 Be interesting to see if an update comes out to address it though.

Thanks for the taking the plunge I hope nothing bad or buggy comes up and hopefully it is a solution for the current situation until (if ever) it is sorted out by R*. Please keep us posted. 1
0ldKen Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 (edited) If this works reverting it back to 1.0.... yet they NEVER patch it back... then I guess I’ll never play online. Edited November 18, 2018 by 0ldKen
0ldKen Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 Too late to turn back boys. Cross yer fingers! 1
0ldKen Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 (edited) Wait... I JUST saw the post before my last post....... are you saying that you have to upload them BEFORE reinstalling????? I’m an hour and 10 minutes in to reinstall... are you saying that if I put my game saves on AFTER THE REINSTALL that there will be issues????? i have never used the save game backup feature since PS2 days with memory cards so........ needing a quick response here lol! Edited November 18, 2018 by 0ldKen
hornet66 Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 I assumed you were goingto delete the game data and saves, that why i suggested saving them to a memory stick before doing anything. That way if the re-install doesnt work as you hope it will you can always re-load a previous save from the usb, that way you wont lose any game progress.Once youve installed the game, you can save your saves to a usb before you start the game.Sorry mate if im confusing the issue,i cant see any reason why your old saved games wont work on the re-installed version of the game.Just make sure the game is not connected to the internet so as not to download the day 1 patch. I started backing up my save when Gran Turismo Sport arrived, online only and online save only.Lost a save file due to online glitch and all my progress so i do it before i shut the ps4 down.cheers
Why? Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 No issue with saves after I have reinstaled any game before.. I have always put back my saves after installing initial game... So no worry
0ldKen Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 Hornet, someone else posted something and was deleted. Wasn’t you. no worry. My 1st game booted to my last save automatically. The delete of the game DID NOT delete my game saves! I didn’t even have to insert the USB!
0ldKen Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 Ok guys. I’ve only played for a second and first impressions are that YES it looks different. The movement seems a micro bit jittery but the sharpness and clarity while panning is less nauseating. Problem is I’m in the swamp and it’s very foggy. But instant impression was yes, it’s noticeably different. 1

0ldKen Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 Uggh... it may be a little bit better... but blur is still there. I played a lot last night and my eyes still haven’t recovered. Idk? were going to need a second opinion.
khajiit1 Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 I’m going to try as well. Without giving away spoilers, im on a mission where there’s a gun fight at night in the rain. Keep getting killed because the blur is so bad and for some reason they decided to add dust effects in addition to the rain which makes no sense.
hornet66 Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 Glad its worked for you, dont know about the deleted post though.Looks like maybe this is the way to go for now,i will have a look tomorrow.I`ll just have to remember to turn off the net or delete the update before it finishes downloading and installing.Hopefully an update will sort things out when the online game is released.👍

khajiit1 Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 Just loaded mine up after the reinstall. Meh, minimal improvement. Everything still fuzzy and looks out of focus. It’s crazy, it’s like I am not wearing my glasses while playing this game and I know it’s not me as I have corrected vision.
Nacho21 Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 (edited) Hello everyone, I have tried the Method that was mentioned in this Thread and reinstalled "RDR 2", without downloading the 1.02 Update on the PS4 Pro. It now looks 100+ Times better. I have turned Boost Mode "On", enabled "Supersampling" and have set the Camera follow "Off". I must also say that the "Supersampling" Feature when turned on has an positive effect now and makes the Game look Crispy. The Game looks stunning now. Edited November 18, 2018 by Nacho21 I‘am using my PS4 Pro on an 1080p Monitor.
0ldKen Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 My PS4 it says supersampling is for 1080 displays only...

Why? Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 (edited) No. Ps4 pro knows r u using 1080 or 4k TV so supersampling works only for 1080 sorry... So is the game really better? Or just another placebo? Could you make a screenshot in Sain Denis tailor shop with outfits... I remember in this topic was screenshot of blury scene there , can not find it right now. Can I ask for some sample images? Edited November 18, 2018 by Why?

The game looks crisp without the out of focus look. But I wish I didn’t have to downgrade the resolution to 1080p. It’s a trade off.
