Can you walk faster?

Is there a way to jog or just walk faster while on foot? The run button seems to put you into an all out sprint and it seems like there's no in between. 

 

I know holding run is slower than tapping run, but holding run still seems way too fast.  Am I missing something obvious? So far the only time I can get Arthur to walk at a reasonable pace is when I'm stuck in a mission section that doesn't let you sprint, so you tap run and instead of sprinting he just does a nice little fast walk.

There is only a "fast walk" which you can use when you are in the campsite. Otherwise, there is only fast and slow. I am not sure why they did the game this way but I have found it pretty darn annoying.
