Help with stables

I have 2 horses, neither stables. I want to stable one of them, but when I walk into any of the stables nothing happens. I dont get prompted to manage or buy anything.  What am I doing wrong

You will need to complete a specific mission to unlock the stable

Go to your camp and talk to Hosea.  He should show you how the stable works.

It took me a long time to figure this out and I felt like a moron. Like Gato mentions, you have to actually trigger events to lead into these options.
