Epilogue Honor Problem [Possible spoilers ahead]

Hey everybody! 

I'm new to this forum and I joined basically because I've got a major problem with the honor system in the game, and I need help desperately. Usually I'd just google something like this and eventually come across someone who'd have the same problem and solved it, but I've had no luck so far. 

I'd just like to preface this by saying that this post may involve spoilers for some. This post is going to be about endgame stuff, so be warned. 

That being said, I feel like it's important for me to make it very clear that I have finished the story. It's 100% completed. I am now just in the process of completing challenges as John that I've ignored while playing as Arthur. 

The reason why this is important is because there shouldn't be a chapter lock issue preventing me from increasing my honor level, and yet I am stuck in the neutral zone on the honor bar. I've tried all the usual stuff; throwing fish back after having caught them, greeted strangers over and over again, done all the chores at John's ranch - all to no avail. The funny thing is that while doing all those things, I get the little honor increase pop-up to the right of the screen, but whenever I press the down arrow on the D-pad, I'm always right where I started on the honor bar, right smack in the middle. 

Has anyone else experienced this - and better yet, found a solution?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I need that gambler outfit.

I haven't.  I didn't wait to do the honor with John, i maxed out the red honor first playthrough as Arthur, you get nothing for that other than people scared of you and lots of rudeness toward you.  my second playthrough, i'm in white honor 5  now, i just unlocked the 2nd store discount, in chapter 4.  Hoping to get to max white honor in chapter 6 if not before.
