Valentine gunsmith fight

After Charles and Arthur rescue Eagle Flies, Arthur rides into Valentine to go to the gunsmith. The gunsmith yells something then runs out from behind the counter and slugs Arthur a couple of time. Arthur fights back, knocks the gunsmith down, then the notice comes up that he is wanted for murder. I had Arthur escape the law. I have played the game several times and never had this happen. Has anyone else?

Find Hosea at the camp and go bear hunting with him. He will take you to the stable in Valentine where you will sell his spare horse, buy a Morgan, get a brush and the stable will unlock for the rest of the game.

Shop owners tend to get a little angry if you enter their store wearing a bandana, and sometimes this is easy to miss when you can't see the bandana from behind.

People do tend to give fair warning before attacking you (unless it's an ambush or scripted story event), so listen to the warnings.
