New to pc rdr2

started out playing online. attacked a bandit camp and got a treasure map. found and looted treasure but now I can't go anywhere. how do I continue on? as soon as I ride out in any direction i get the 10 second counter.

That treasure chest gave you an ability card coupon.  

They want you to select and equip an ability card to move on.

That confused me the first time too. You gotta familiarize yourself with the ability cards and be sure to use them on your character.
