I wish they had given our character a voice for online play.  I feel like a duffus just being able to wave, nod or just smile when interacting with characters i meet in the game.

This isn't unique to RDO or R* for that matter but GTAV is the same.  IIRC, it had to do with making a player's character feel less scripted as if NPCs in cutscenes were talking to you instead of another character.  In GTAV, other NPCs actually make jokes at times about it.
