Looting Question

I've started another playthrough of the game in an attempt of 100% completion.   How do you loot the boxes on either side of the horse drawn carts, I'm sure I was able to do that when I played the game a few years ago.

I believe when you go up to the cart if you turn on your Dead Eye, you will see which boxes are accessible, also as you approach the boxes it will tell you what button to hit on your controller, in my case I believe it's the Triangle. Good luck

It's been a really long time but from what I remember, the only boxes that were accessible (if they even were) on carts/wagons were typically on the back.  I could be wrong as I haven't played for years.
