RDR2 constantly freezes and crashes a few seconds after the loading screen

Hi! I just stumbled upon this thread when trying to look for a solution to my RDR2 issue. I know I am late to the party but it's better late than never.

 

RDR2 freezes computer and makes it unresponsive

 

I am also having the exact same issue as this person and this matches the same situation of my game too. I couldn't find anything else on the internet that resembles this exact same issue and situation. My game also automatically freezes the moment I get into the game after the loading screen. This only happened a few days after I started playing and it was working just fine until now. It is very frustrating as I really wanted to play both story mode and RDO. Even starting RDO also puts me in the same situation, it also freezes past the loading screen.

 

According to the fix mentioned here, changing the graphic api to Vulkan fixes the issue but mine was already set to Vulkan by default. I tried changing it to DX12 but same thing happened and changing it back to Vulkan did nothing too. I even contacted Rockstar support and they gave me all sorts of methods to fix the issue but to no avail. I even tried using AI for help but I still could not get rid of the problem, my game still freezes and crashes at the same moment when the game world loads after the loading screen.

 

I did however manage to find a workaround but not a complete fix since it still freezes and crashes. I deleted all the files and folders in the Rockstar games folder in my Documents to force the game to reset the settings. The moment I start the game from Steam, it loads up the Rockstar launcher and it asks to enable cloud saves. I chose not to enable cloud saves so it does not load my current save file which is right in the beginning of Chapter 2. When I start a new story mode, it does not crash and I was able to play it. I also tested RDO using this method and it also works. The only problem is I only played around 30 to 60 minutes then it started to freeze and crash again. Then after that it has kept freezing and crashing every time I start story mode or RDO right after the loading screen when the game world loads. I do not want to keep deleting the settings and then play it only for almost an hour only to freeze and crash, it's very annoying.

 

I am also using a laptop. Here are my specs:

Model: AORUS 15P KD

CPU: 11th Gen Intel Core i7-11800H

GPU: Geforce RTX 3060 Laptop 6GB VRAM

RAM: 32GB DDR4 (16GB x2)

OS: Windows 11

 

I feel so frustrated and losing hope at this point as I cannot find a proper fix for this issue and I believe that my laptop is more than capable to run this 7-year old game. I can run and play all my other games, latest and old, with no issues whatsoever. I am humbly asking for any help in resolving this issue. I know this thread I found here is marked as resolved quite a while back but I am hoping and praying if anyone can still find a solution to this problem and share it with me, please.
