I hope they do add a passive mode and we can have what we want. I think you already have what you want, but for some reason you seem very upset by the idea of anyone else being happy. I can also help you wrap your head around the idea of the game being played online, it would be with friends in co-op, which single player does not offer, as the missions and story are all different in the online mode.

Not a great point about outlaws considering the wild west was tamed by the law. I am all for people being outlaws, if that is what they want. But there is currently no real danger from the law or bounty hunters. Also, any time you or anyone else feel like going on a murder spree to be a digital outlaw, you have every game mode available to you to do that. If I wish to be left alone to enjoy missions with friends i have ZERO choice. I dont want want Simcity, i dont want a hunting a fishing game, I would very much like to play with friends and avoid people who only get their fun from ruining mine!!

There seem to be alot of smart people in these forums. I have no problem with others who want something different than i do. If you are a person who loves killing other players you already have several options available to you in many of the pvp modes. If you are a player who wants to enjoy playing with a few close friends in a truly wonderful game world where you could do missions and experience everything at a pace you choose, you currently have ZERO options. The single player game world is single player!! I was really hoping for a world that would let me enjoy playing with friends and experiencing the content without being bothered by other players who simply want to shoot me for fun. Some people have said they havent had that problem, and that is great for you. But the community that was in the online game from the start basically ran off most of my friends in a week. So I am just going to do like someone else said and stop playing and kinda keep a check on the progress. If it improves, great, if not the player base will just continue to get smaller until not much is left. My only thing is that i was hoping for a pve co-op world, and so were many of my friends, but the game seems to be going into another direction and (to me) it does not look like something i want to be part of. I have been hopeful with most updates that fixes would be put in place for an even playing field for pve and pvp. The current fixes are nothing more than a band-aid. I already have 300+ hours in game, so if i never play it again, i have got my value.

I get that it is the wild west, but there is currently no way to control a small group of idiots from ruining the game for many other people. When do we get to form a lynch mob and send 50 people after the 3 red dots on the map and make them pay for shooting some random low level guy. The law eventually tamed the wild west. In the games current state, there is no punishment for players who only want to ruin the game for others. Until this is fixed this game will be a haven for a toxic community.

A true free roam co-op mode; free of idiots, free of grief, free of avoiding red dots, free of the current mess that is red dead online.

The whole online experience has been garbage so far for me. I have never raised a gun to anyone yet unless they actually fired a shot at me first. I have been killed carrying pelts to my horse, killed fishing, killed coming out of a general store, killed leaving my campsite. I have been killed 3 or 4 times by the same person without ever fighting back, just to prove a point, that some people just want to ruin the experience for others. I have had 3 or 4 friends try to play this game with me and they have all given up after only a few minutes in most servers. Players who wish to kill each other for no reason already have series events to compete in, where they can shoot each other all they want. But people who want to play with friends in this amazing world have no choice but to share our world with some players who are just trying to be the worlds biggest idiot. I am hoping for a free roam world that is safe to play with friends, or to meet new friends. It would be nice to ride up to someone with them having no fear of you in a safe online world to interact with them. Unfortunately it seems rockstars focus is on online misery from children and making that money fast before they find a way to give us an amazing game experience with our friends. Until its a reality I am officially done with the online. All the free gold bars in the world cant make me enjoy playing with terrible people.
