  1. Anything beyond showing the game world from the characters perspective. That includes footage from early on story missions and so on. My point with this post was to argue a minority viewpoint that has a slight foothold with me. I doubt rockstar would show too much anyways, but thought I should post it regardless and maybe start a conversation. It’s my first post in a while so forgive me if it doesn’t seem too well thought out, it was kind of a spur of the moment type of thing.
  2. I keep wondering when Rockstar will release some gameplay footage of RDR2, my best guess being mid to late July. The reason being that I like most of you can't wait to play the game, and any new tidbit of info to ease the never-ending wait is worth it. At the same time, I wonder if it will ruin the discovery and uniqueness of the title. For something to add weight to this argument, look no further than any assassins creed game. At the E3 before it's annual release, they show you everything there is to know about it. In the case of Origins, they went as far as to show the actual beginning. This is a telltale sign that the game is lacking any substance. Beyond that, it causes the introductory sequence to lose its sense of awe. So maybe, leaving a few more variables than we may like In the short term will end up rewarding us with the closest thing to magic a game can provide, the unknown. Side note: I understand that we can't be expected to buy a game without knowing what it is about, just like we cant buy a car without test driving it. But do you really need to drive a Ferrari to know it's good?
  3. You can’t say John Marston! Also who was your least favorite character? For me I’d say a tie between Irish and West Dickens, and by far my least being Luisa. I don’t talk about his son Jack, as far as I’m concerned he was never in the game.
  4. I agree with you on that, it would not spell well for their investors if the years biggest game still did not have a release date by then. What I think will happen is that they reveal a new trailer with a release date for the Super Bowl. This would allow the, to forgo the usual 5 month marketing campaign in favor of a 2 or 3 month one. It would be well worth the money since the super bowl will have over one hundred million people tuned in to watch.
  5. Do you think that Rockstars weak partnership with Sony will have an impact on the lengths R* goes to optimize RDR2 to take advantage of excess power on Xbox one x compared to the pro? I doubt it, and hope not but I could be wrong because the deal could include other things that we have not been made aware of.
  6. Wish there was some way to be selected to participate in it, that’s for sure! If there is please let me know.
  7. It all comes down to your own moral values on such matters, and who you value more as a friend. I could say a lot more and try to help, but I don’t know you or your friends. A reason being is for me, I’d be concerned for your friend Jen. I would try to help by showing her what she is doing is wrong and that you want the best for her. Be heartfelt in your delivery, again, part of the problem is I don’t know how much you care for her, so for all I know these are two regular friends. I might have droned on there a bit, do what you think is right. What she is doing is clearly wrong, you need to decide if she is worth trying to help, if not I’d tell the person who is being wronged. If you’d like me to say some more (in a more organized manner) I’d be happy to, just hard to give advice that usually calls for more info and depends on ones moral code. Anyway if you don’t, wish you the best and hope this helped some. Remember, a man is only as good as the company he keeps, applies to a good deal of life’s often complicated situations.
  8. The general theme of RDR had to do with John trying to redeem himself from his past actions during his time in Dutch’s gang. While I was searching desperately for any RDR2 news, I came across an article. It discussed RDR2’s main protagonist, Arthur Morgan, who appears to be quite the opposite of a John Marston like character. They continued to say that he might have to stick to the Redemption theme of the previous game, suggesting that he might have a change of heart at some point during single player. I sincerely hope this is not the case, playing as the bad (tough guy, not necessarily bad) is Rockstar’s specialty. Of course they will develop Arthur’s character as the story progresses, but do you think he will have a tipping point and try to earn his Redemption? For me this seems stale, and I sally want to play as the character I saw in the trailer, but what is your opinion? FYI: coming back to this before I posted it I kind of realized this is not the most intriguing topic, I am rather tired so am not thinking as clearly as usual but already finished beforehand so will post.
  9. I apologize if it was previously mentioned, as I am relatively new here. The M rating means 18+ while the legal gambling age is 21 and over. I am in agreement with you, and even if the states did force them to raise the age it would not affect younger people from having parents buy it for them. It is just unnecessary trouble and attention I think Rockstar wants to avoid.
  10. One of the fan favorite mini games from RDR, poker, will surely return for RDR2. It being more likely than not, it would make it impossible for them to put in any type of micro transactions involving in game currency for single player. The reason being that it would be easy for states to label it as gambling, as it essentially is. This does not put to rest the idea of micro transactions being in the game, as they will almost assuredly be in multiplayer. What it does do is make the chances of single player mtx just a little bit less likely, in my opinion.
  11. All I seem to hear is how great the soundtrack for RDR was. For me though, I have always considered it dull and at times depressing. When I hear how people hope that RDR2’s soundtrack is similar I can’t help but think the opposite. What is your opinion?
  12. I don’t know a whole lot on this topic but I find it hard to believe that the switch would be able to handle RDR2. With games like L.A. Noire and original RDR I’d imagine it being much easier due to it’s smaller size and lack of complexity compared to more modern games. If it is true that they plan to port over gta 5 then maybe I am wrong on this one. Either way playing a game like RDR2 on the switch would never due the game justice as they would most likely have to tone down just about every aspect of the game in order for switch to be able to support. Correct me if I am wrong though.
  13. It is now January 4th, 2018, and still silence from Rockstar. When will it signal another delay? I know of the somewhat credible leak of June 8th but if that is the case, they would still need to start marketing soon. So, when do you think we will have to hear something from Rockstar if they are to keep their promise of Spring 2018?
  14. I agree with you on the award aspect of what you said. It reminds me of what comes with long development periods for games, like you said it has had. The longer a game is in development for, the higher the expectations are, at least usually. An exception would be Crackdown 3, in my humble opinion. Going by this reasoning, I don’t think Rockstar would want to have RDR2 delayed again. It’s already been delayed once, which means they will have had more time to perfect it. The negative to repeatedly delaying a game is it allow fans of the future game like myself, to let our imaginations run wild. Which is fine and dandy until at least to us they under deliver, because we assumed they would be doing more than just minor bug fixes in those extra months spent on it. Correct me if I am wrong, but I do not think that RDR2 will be delayed again.
  15. I agree, it will be almost impossible for RDR2 to not outshine the original game. I sincerely hope that the frame rate is able to stick closer to 30fps if not more because the one thing I do not like about gta 5 is the stutter affect that often happens during online and story mode. If nothing else let’s hope they fix those terrible ground textures at the beginning of the 2nd trailer. Also, if you are looking for a somewhat affordable 4K display, I would recommend a Hisense tv. I recently purchased one, and not only is the picture great, but the sound is to die for. Here is the link to both the 4K and 4K hdr models if you are on the market for one: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hisense-50-class-49-5-diag--led-2160p-smart-4k-ultra-hd-tv-with-high-dynamic-range/4982500.p?skuId=4982500 https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hisense-50-class-49-5-diag--led-2160p-smart-4k-ultra-hd-tv/5866700.p?skuId=5866700
  16. I know there is no real information out there to answer this question, so this is purely speculation, but what type of upgrades should we expect to come with the new console upgrades to RDR2. There are obvious ones like texture upgrades and improved draw distances, but I am talking about more major upgrades from the older (new) consoles. With the Xbox one x having a 6 teraflop gpu (and other technical terms I don’t fully understand) enabling the most lifelike environments for a console yet, should we expect rockstar to put out a game that is top tier graphics wise?
