I have been wanting to buy a camera for some time but I have no clue what is considered good or bad anything. I don't want anything fancy. I like taking pictures of the animals and insects we get around here. Looking to spend like $400 to $600. Brands don't matter.

I know I have read that a number of times. For the record, I really don't know anything about cameras. I just use some Sony something or other point and shoot camera once in a while, I mostly take pics with my phone.

If you need a wide angle lens, so be it! 1
