Carbine Repeater disappeared!

Hey everyone, 

So i was live streaming my gameplay of red dead the other night and this bug occurred whilst streaming

Here is the sequence of events:

@2:21:22 - I go through my weapons and you can see my Carbine repeater is there

@2:26.30 - I save the game after the mission "Paying a Social Call" knowing at this point my Repeater is on my horse

@ 2:32.00 - After killing a couple of people and causing some mischief and then taking a bath i save the game again, notice i am NOT on my horse carrying any weapons other than my sidearm. I reload my game after getting a bounty.

@2:34.50 I reload the game and when i respawn I'm not on my horse and don't go back on my horse til after I've been to Gunsmith.

@2:58.30 You can see i am carrying no other guns other than my sidearm

@2:59:00 I redeem my 3 guns at the Gunsmith

@3:10:30 After purchasing guns you'll notice it says 1 of 4. At this point i don't scroll through the guns

@3:17:00 I scroll through my guns and my Carbine Repeater is NOWHERE to be seen

I hope i went into as much detail as possible and i hope this issue gets resolved ASAP. In order to get my Repeater back, I've had to Purchase 1 from the Gunsmith.

I hope i went into as much detail as possible and i hope this issue gets resolved ASAP. In order to get my Repeater back, I've had to Purchase 1 from the Gunsmith.

Trying going to your gunsmith and go to customize, then hit equip weapon. Once you do that, you should be able to walk out of the gunsmith with your weapon. However, if you do not own the weapon, or you did not purchase it, you can't get the weapon back.

This is the issue though, the Carbine repeater is given to you in Chapter 1

Possibly the bug is caused as the game isn't recognising i own the weapon?

I've lost my carbine repeater too, I don't know when or how.

Replaying the mission where you acquire it doesn't help because the game does a checkpoint kind of thing which you return to after the mission.

So far Rockstar support has only given me the instructions to reset the console, the 'pull the plug out, etc.' thing they always suggest when you lose items online.

Any carbines I pick up off enemies are always a 'worn repeater' which only last the session.

And tried to post on Reddit but it won't let me because karma is too low, aka "no noobs allowed!", and messaging it to the mods just got me muted for 3 days, lol, pointless as I couldn't post anyway, feels very elitist and unwelcoming, no more Reddit for me.

After doing "A quiet time" and "who is not without sin" right after, I no longer have access to my weapons other than the revolver I'm carrying. I died once during the first mission and went straight to the second after that, so not sure where I lost the weapons. I did notice reloading any save, even from before either mission, did not help.

Also I noticed that it was simply the L/R 2 buttons not working, as the revolver slot said 2/3. None of the slots on the 1st and 2nd page allowed me to use L/R 2.

I got it to work again by bringing up the weapon wheel, going to the 3rd page (horse), there on my outfit slot I could use L/R 2, after that on any page and my weapons were selectable again.

I'm with you guys in that I lost my CR somewhere along the way. I think during "paying a social call" when I picked up the sawed off shotgun. After seeing this thread, i searched google and saw that going into a stable should return your items to,your horse.

I'm now stuck with a worn carbine repeater which does stay in my inventory when I log off, but according to the gun shop I don't own one any more. I've picked up worn versions of other rifles and shotguns but they don't stay on my character if I have a decent version already. I have to conclude therefore that I haven't overwritten my carbine repeater by picking up a worn version so I must have dropped it somewhere.

You can drop weapons during a fist fight, if your opponent disarms you, but I'd assume you can't actually lose the weapon if you fail to pick it up afterwards. Has anyone tested this?

So I just went in game to,check,out the stable and gunsmith to see if anything would work. I was in Valentine just after getting the Mexican gunslinger in the mountains. Get on the horse, hit LB to check inventory, and EVERYTHING was there! Two CRs, three revolvers, my bow was back, sawed off shotgun.  I never saw so much stuff in horse inventory. Two hats, outfits, and other stuff that was never there. Weird. So who knows what's going on. Maybe some missions take away different pieces of inventory? Who knows.

I've managed to pick up a decent carbine repeater which has overwritten the worn version and now appears as owned in the gun shop.

I found it in a place called Hill Haven Ranch near Mattock Pond just north of Rhodes, it's inside the ranch house leaning against the wall.
