Keep loosing my horse

Hi Guys

I keep finding my selv without a horse and having to walk?

lets say I finished a mission where I needed to steal a wagon, I steal it, things get heatet, I run with the wagon and get to where I need to deliver the wagon.

... now I dont have  my horse and its way out of range. I can see it on the map, but am I supposed to walk there?

this has happened to me 3-4 times now. There  must be something I am missing.

what should I do when stealing a wagon or another horse or something to NOT leave  my own horse behind??

When you get on a cart try whistling your horse as you drive off, it should follow the cart.

Whistle once on the wagon.  If your horse is close enough, it will follow.

That is what I have always did on each job and it would follow behind.
