When I get there I'll let you know.  @Benjo will shake his head when I reveal that I'm STILL in Chapter II.

Spoiler

I haven't beaten the game myself but I've read that after Arthur dies the world feels empty and everything you work for is lost, also that playing as john Isn't as awesome as you would think

I mean, at that point, all I plan on doing is waiting for RDR2 Online to go live.  Sure, I'll finish the main story, but right now, I'm just wandering around, and having a grand ol' time just taking in all the little hints and details that they put into the game.

It's the most immersive thing I've ever played, and the fact that it has been able to suck me in without any sort of online component thus far is a testament to the work and effort R* put into this game.  It's a complex, BEAUTIFUL masterpiece, one that I expect will continue to pay dividends for a long, long time.

Spoiler

I didn't go back for the money myself and if you're really keen on finding out i'm sure you could replay the quest and check without having to go through the whole story but i know for a fact that Arthur dies inevitably since he is sick from what know and that final cutscene where Micah and Arthur get into the fight is always gonna happen from what i know unless going back for the money changes it But that one scene does differentiate depending on your honor level either causing a softer death or a more savage one, i wish you could get around the sickness and some how save Arthur from getting sick and be able to play as him or Marston but the mission where arthur gets the sickness from is a required mission to move on with the story and yes i realize he isn't in RDR1 but they could've allowed you to at least get out alive and Arthur and Mary or Arthur and someone could've gone and started a family away from it all and that could've been the reason he wasn't in RDR1 because yes after Arthur does die the world does seem kinda bare and doesn't feel the same but there's still a decent story and the "ending" where Arthur dies is only the ending for him not the games full ending!

Micah

I have a new rule for the forums:  Every time someone brings up Micah, I am required to thank folks for reminding me how much I hate that gutless yellow turd.  So, as required by my own rule, Thank you for reminding me how much I HATE Micah, and how much I wish I could have

Spoiler

Thrown the dynamite into his cell in Strawberry to kill him, as opposed to freeing him.  He's the "Fredo" of the gang.

Agreed, i despise him! Have you completed the epilogue yet?

No.  I'm over 40 hours in..... and I'm still in Chapter 2.  I've uncovered a LOT of the map, done as many side quests as possible (and haven't resorted to using the internet for clues/tips--straight up old school exploring), and just spent HOURS doing stupid stuff like trying to murder most of Valentine, "feeding the pigs",  trophy hunting, collecting, and slaying O'Driscolls with extreme prejudice...

I'll spend an hour exploring the middle of nowhere, or roping deer from horseback and killing them with a knife;  It really depends on what I"m in the mood for.  I don't know how much further I have to go in Chapter 2, because I haven't spoiled it for myself yet, but right now, the only two main quests on my docket are:

Spoiler

meeting Marston at the oil wagon I stole to rob the train, and meeting up with Micah outside of Strawberry after I (was forced to) help him escape.  I'll probably do the train robbery tonight, and if I have time (and don't get sidetracked) I'll probably do Micah too, just so I can move the story along a bit further.

There's been plenty to do: I've located a lot of side businesses, and the hunting aspect of the game is a lot of fun for me, personally.  Once I have a solid release date for RDR2 Online, I'll probably accelerate my pursuit of finishing the main story, but for now, I'm enjoying the pacing just fine.

Ohh Okay! Yeah you've still gotten a long ways to go!
