What does it mean when player blips have an X in the middle of it on the map?

I was assuming it meant that their weapon was pulled out but that doesn't make much sense because I only ever see one on a map at one time.

I believe you're referring to them using Dead Eye, whenever anyone activates it they will pop up with an oval shaped circle with an X in the middle.

Unless its just an X by itself then it is a dead NPC if its dark they haven't been looted, if its kind of fading then they have been looted.

Thanks for the info! I knew about the NPC's being dead with the x's I was referring to the blips with the EX's in the middle like you mentioned.
