insomniactor
Recently I was playing RDR2 Online and spent an absurd amount of time finding a wagon to hack the game a bit by catching a ridiculous number of fish and loading them into the cart to sell them off. As I headed to the butcher I got to the border of Saint Denis to see about 8-10 players all hanging around that part of the map and I was convinced all of them would see me hauling this load – at least one would try to kill me and take the cart right? Oddly enough, no. These were mostly single players with maybe one posse in the mix. All of them doing their own thing. Looking at me, sure, but moving on without a second glance. Even as I parked by the butcher and made my dozen or so walks back and forth to sell each fish, players came and went selling their own items. One or two noticed what I was doing. But not one player even so much as approached me antagonistically. (That sh*t would never happen in GTA Online) Rockstar seems to be creating a new type of online experience that puts a stronger emphasis on immersion and roleplaying than almost anything I’ve seen out there. The most surprising part is that so many of the players are embracing that. While I admire and respect what the hardcore roleplayers out there are doing in creating scenes and scenarios, the structure they create is a little too much for my playstyle. I’ve posted previously seeking players who share a similar view but I think I haven’t been able to articulate it well enough. I think the best way to describe it would be something like “Roleplay Light”. “Diet Roleplay” didn’t’ sound as good. 😉 I hit a wall with playing online a couple of weeks after it’s beta launch and then only played sporadically to see what updates were being added. As new content is created and no doubt that Rockstar is going to provide the players with more than enough things to do in this new experiment of a game, I find myself playing more and more. But the big updates are coming and now seems like a good time to start finding other players that want to explore the game in the same way that I do. The way I enjoy playing is very much the way I described in my previous post seeking “chill players”. But I guess to elaborate on that I just want to play with people who interact with the world the way they would if they were actually there. Essentially just playing the game in character. I like to walk most places over running if there isn’t combat going on. Same case with riding on my horse (though I will gallop at a steady pace or full on run in cinematic if I’m covering a long distance). If I come across a gang hideout, mission, or an attack, I like to play it low and slow – taking cover, picking off targets with a little bit of strategy, coordinating with other players, etc. Same with missions. Rather than just grinding for xp, money, and gold (which has its time and place too), I want to take my time and enjoy the game. And from what I’m seeing a lot of random players doing on the map, a lot of them are into something similar. So that’s kind of the idea. I don’t have any kind of age or level restrictions. I have a mic but I don’t always use it and don’t expect anyone else to have one or get on there with their best southern accent to talk like a cowboy (but by all means go for it if you want and I’ll probably play along). I’m a pretty non hostile player who leans heavy towards PvE and cooperative play but a shoot out session can be fun now and then. I rarely start that kind of thing but I’ll go with it as long as it doesn’t feel unbalanced (my roommate and I were attacked by a six person posse for 20 minutes straight the other day – not really a fun time). My psn is the same as my screenname here so feel free to add me and mention this post in your friend request. I’m CST if that matters to you. Even if you’re not looking to do all of what I mentioned above you can also add me if you’re just looking for a friendly player for co op play or hunting and fishing. I’ll see you out there.
Born Homicidal
It's a shame really, you would have easily fit my crew as we are exactly what you're looking for (except we also do Crew RP). For some odd reason these type of people (you) are all on PS4, while casual grinders are all on Xbox lol. Hope you find what you're looking for, I'm sure you will so consider this a friendly bump
