Cheat code problem

I know the forum has addressed this issue before but I could not find an answer. Every time I put in the  cheat codes for Red Dead 2 it does not show letters only dots like you would see if you were putting in a password.  Any suggestions. I don't use the cheats often but  when I do I expect the keyboard to work normally. Any suggestions family.

That sounds very odd. Any chance you can post a screenshot?

It's done that way to make the cheats more of a challenge to unlock. I unlock all the ones I have, but don't use them since you can't save with one engaged.
