Socialclub Connection Problems - Netgear Orbi RBR50

I've enjoyed playing RDR2 for the last couple of years.  Same PC and netwroking/router setup the whole time.  Approximately three weeks ago I tried starting the game and got Officeline Mode: Could not establish connection for the first time ever.  I searched all the support forums I could find, set ports to open on my router that were previously not.  I've rebooted my modem and rounder dozens of times with the same result.  During my research I concluded the game was authenticating to Socialclub.rockstargames.com and further discovered using a web browser I cannot connect to Socialclub.rockstargames.com   I tried on my phone and another computer some connected via WiFi others wired to my router.  When away from the house on the cellular network or other WiFi networks I can hit the site.  Out of desperation I tried a complete factory reset on my router with the same result, unable to connect.   I even rolled back the firmware on the router.  Finally,  I replaced my Netgear Orbi RBR50 router with an Asus router I had on hand.  Problem resolved, I connected immediately without setting any ports to open.  Worked straight away.  I have a work around although its quite frustratiing as I have a large investment in a mesh system of satellites connected to my Orbi RBR50 router.  This post is just to inform anyone who may be having similar issues with this model of router. I spent many hours of my time and hired a third party IT support company to help resolve, but was never able to get the router to connect.  This failure started close to the time of a large updated (2+ Gb) was rolled out by Rockstart.  Probably nothing to do with the issue, but the timing is interesting.  If anyone has experience this issue with the Orbi router, I'd sure like to know how you fixed it.
