Map Freezing Up

I just bought this game this week. I'm using a PC and a XBox-type controller. After a few times of opening the map, it freezes up. The controller will not scroll the map up, down etc, it won't zoom. It just kind of stutters. I have to hit the control pad a thousand times just to get it to move one inch as it fights me. I can click out of the map and go back to the game and the controller works fine. I can go back to the map, but I cannot manipulate it at all. I don't suppose anyone else has this problem knows how to fix this? Most problems I have with games are usually specific to me and there is no solution and I can't use the game, so I expect this. But hopefully someone here knows what I am talking about and has a fix. If I close the game and re-boot, it will work again for a minute before not working again. I did buy the game on sale on Steam. Did I buy one of the broken versions? lol

You definitely got a junk version of the game. You're probably going to have to go to the Rockstar website and rebuy the game directly from them.

To sum up, Steam screwed you.
