  1. That's a good tip about the DLC warhorse. Mine got killed after a random encounter, after making progress with some Bandit Challenges. I had not saved my progress though. And used an earlier save from that evening to get my horse back. But had to redo all the progress I made in the Bandit challenges. If I only knew.
  2. I did the standard pre-order. Which granted me a free warhorse, and I think one other thing. To get the horse, I had to get to Chapter 2 and And now it's mine! For the other items, you mentioned it looks like you have to be passed a certain point in story mode. Check out this article for more info. https://www.vg247.com/2018/11/13/red-dead-redemption-2-war-horse-how-to-get-bonus-dlc-pre-order/
  3. You can use your knife to get a killing blow on an animal. I've done this when I've wounded a deer, and it was laying on the ground badly wounded crying out in pain. I think I may have also done with to a lasso'd animal. I think I read somewhere that this can help with getting an undamaged hide. When you use the knife in the above 2 ways, it tells you to press a certain button in the lower right of your TV, to do a killing blow.
  4. You can also threaten the witness into forgetting what they saw. I had someone witness me holding up a store. They ran off as the bright red EYE icon on my radar. I ran after them. I caught up to them. I could kill them. Instead, I was able to interact with them and choose to threaten them. It took a bit longer to make them stop being a witness than killing them. So this seems situational in its usage.
  5. PS4 does not have an easy way to see how many hours you have played a particular game. If any at all. There is a weekly email update from PlayStation, you can search for PlayStation weekly in your email to find it. But that will only have the total hours played of everything. It will read "Hours Played: X#". This value might include total time your PS4 is on, and without a game playing. Your save game file might include the total time played for that particular save game file. I sort of recall seeing that number for some of my games. But not all of them. That value isn't going to account for my time messing around trying something out and reverting to an earlier save. I wish it had something like Steam does. Where your total time played is easily seen, right next to your game in the Steam library.
  6. I had a friend over, showing him the game. He said, "Let's save your game, and then **** sh*t up." So we did. The biggest rampage was in Valentine. I was in Chapter 3, and knew that town best. $500 was the maximum it would go to. Though thinking about it, I suppose it's $500 max per territory. So multiple places could be $500 each. When fighting in Town, it seemed to always be spawning new law types. But if we were outside of town, once you killed the 6 law folks, then it would quite down for a while. I assume that while in town, it was easier for witnesses to see things and report them causing the new spawns.
  7. I prefer PS4. But, I don't have an XBOX. I do have a PC. Games exclusive to XBOX, seem to also come out on PC. So I have less of a reason to get an XBOX. But, I have thought about getting an XBOX to play games with my RL friends. But have yet to do that. I got a PS4 in 2015, to play the PS4 exclusive game Bloodborne. At the time I was using my roommates older 720p TV to play. A few months later I got a 65" 4k TV. Now I could play Bloodborne at 1080p. Wow - a nice improvement! Though it would be a while before I could enjoy 4k content on my TV. I think the first things I was able to watch in 4k were some YT 4K videos. Star Wars 7 trailer was one. Netflix and Amazon started having 4k content. 4k Blu Ray players had yet to come out. There weren't any cable channels in 4k. Still aren't. At least in my area. I also upgraded the PS4's HD to a SSD. That was expensive but improves boot and game load times. And can give you a slight advantage with being able to pick characters first in Overwatch. Sometime after the PS4 Pro came out, I got that. I had wanted to be able to multiplayer gaming on 2 consols with 2 monitors. I have my PS4 Pro hooked up to the TV. And the PS4 share the computer monitor with my PC. PS4 Pro supports 4K gaming, the PS4 does not. Both support HDR. I swapped the SSD in the PS4, to the PS4 Pro. You can buy 1 digital copy of a game, and have it work on both consoles at the same time. I think XBOX allows this too. I also learned that the SSD PS4 will patch significantly faster than my non SSD PS4. A recent Overwatch patch took something like 10 minutes longer on the non SSD PS4. Gaming with the PS4 Pro while lounging on the couch is nice. Gaming with a buddy on 2 machines, in the same room, is nicer. It's like LAN gaming. Fun times! Truth, another reason to go the XBOX X route, is that it has a 4K Blu Ray player. The PS4 PRO does not. But I'd also consider console game exclusives. And as gigemaggs99 pointed out, what system are your friends playing on, that you'd want to game with.
  8. I read from some online guide, that your horse can get stolen if it's not hitched. I assume this doesn't apply during a mission or jumping off your horse to get on a carriage/horse/train. But I'm not sure. I have had one of my first 2 horses die, from jumping off something too high. As mentioned above, you can manually save to protect your horse 2from that.
  9. I wonder if another route would be to disable all the people on the train, using your fists. Would that keep them quiet from reporting a crime? Everyone except the train's driver. Then go to the last car and shoot from there? But would the train's driver be far enough away as to not hear the shooting, and report it?
  10. I accidentally found the Legendary Coyote spot, on my way to some other destination. I wasn't expecting to complete it, based on how my above interaction went. But it was broad daylight, so that helped with seeing things. I followed the clues better. And even found ... ... during the hunt. I was able to shoot the things several times with either my bow or gun. I forget which. But had to chase it some more before finally killing it. I got its legendary pelt. Then thought I lost it during me dying in another shootout. But got a message saying it would be available at the trapper/fence. And it was. Last night I found out what I can do with it.
  11. I didn't have any issues with reaching him for that mission in Blackwater. That area was red with the "Wanted Dead or Alive." I had read somewhere, that the game will allow you to do story missions in Wanted Dead or Alive states. After I finished that mission I tried coming back to explore that area. Each time along the road I'd venture in. And before I knew it I had 6+ people spawn on the road near me and quickly shoot me down. I gave up on trying to freely explore that area after 3 attempts. There was a similar post on this a week or so ago. Some other people posted that they had trouble getting to that mission spot, without running into spawns of law men. They had suggested not traveling on the roads to get to the mission spot on the map.
  12. In this instance, there were many other animals roaming the area. It was also becoming night time. I think I got disoriented and followed the wrong animals tracks. Or wandered out of the white area on the map where it clues you into where it can be found.
  13. How long does it take for a legendary animal to show back up again? This is after it leaves the area when one is looking for it. I was hunting a legendary animal, When I got into its area, I got a message saying so. I took too long looking for it. I got a message saying it had left the area and that it will be a while before it comes back. Sometime later, I came back to that area. But didn't find any sign of it, nor message saying it was around. I'll try again later.
  14. I'd expect it to be reset. That seems to be the normal procedure for PC games. But this is the first RS game I've played from Day 1 release. I am ignorant as to how RS has previously handled this sort of thing with their other online multiplayer games. Going from Beta to Live. I'd hope for the best. Plan for the worst. I can't wait for it to come out!
  15. Correct. The one you drop goes to the horse. Furthermore, it seems you can only have one of whatever type of gun you have collected on your horse inventory. And only the most upgraded version of it. Any lesser version of it won't be in the horse's inventory. So for example, I have the Cattleman Revolver. I've upgraded it a bit. I go out shooting with it and kill someone. I swap out their worn non-upgraded Cattleman Revolver and leave my upgraded Cattleman Revolver on the ground. My upgraded version goes back to my horse inventory. If say a few minutes later, I find another type of Revolver and swap that out and leave the worn non-upgraded one on the ground somewhere, then that worn non-upgraded Cattleman Revolver won't show up on my horse's inventory. For my upgraded Cattleman Revolver supersedes it. And that upgraded one will be the only version of it available on my horse's inventory. At least that is what I've noticed so far. So in other words, I won't lose my upgrade progress on a weapon.
  16. I hunted a pig, near some buildings in Valentine. I got the crime reported message. Then lawmen coming to investigate. I harvested the pig, and I got away. But a $5 bounty was placed on my head. I got $1.05 from selling the pig parts. Crime did not pay.
  17. You can adjust the games visual settings to adjust how bright and dark things are. I can also adjust my TV's settings too. On my Sony TV there are a few presets to toggle through. As well as making fine tune adjustments. Using the game's HDR mode on my PS4 Pro results in noticeably darker images. I have noticed a difference with lighting at night if the moon is out or not. Last night I experienced a full moon, and it was bright out for night time. But not too bright. Seemed realistically bright, during RL full moon.
  18. I had just done that mission last night. Thanks for the info.
  19. Most of the time, the guns I find off the dead are the same ones I already have. When I first encountered this, I thought maybe I could sell it to a merchant. But I've not been able to sell any guns to a merchant. But, I've acquired some new guns from successfully dueling others. This was form one of the Stranger missions. Those guns had slight differences. And might be needed for an achievement or challenge. It potentially might be in the middle of a gun fight. Like when suddenly you could really use a shotgun, but didn't equip one from your horse. And you find one off one of the dead. But you don't have time to run back to your horse to swap it out.
