  1. Are you pressing and holding L3? Cuz some people think you only tap it, but if you hold it you can steady your horse better/longer. I was using a nokota and surrounded by wolves while on the horse. She didn't buck me off (she was hella close to doing so tho). Held her steady long enough to take the wolves out. Nokotas in my experience aren't very brave, better than Arabians, but not by much. I do think no matter what horse you have, cougars and bears are automatic hell no to all horses. But I am using that foxtrotter. Turkomans are really good too, but they are rank 58-60.
  2. I personally only go into game chat or say anything if it seems like someone is trying to get my attention or if on the rare occasion someone doesn't insta kill me and is working with me. Or to say thank you or I'm sorry. I met some cool people that way that I still run with even today. But I otherwise will selectively mute people or mute all depending on how I feel. But I'm usually in a party chat to begin with. Also my favorite is when they realize I'm a woman they immediately start insulting me and say my lady bits are stretched out or some other assumption. Like, am I supposed to get mad when you start talking about something you've never seen? Or they will talk about my mother and then get confused when I add insults too (have a shitty relationship with her).
  3. I think it's the same regardless of the level. If you're on or around your horse a lot and have multiple hats, it works great. Hell you can pick up someone else's hat and use it too.
  4. I'm pretty sure it reduces the damage you take by a lot at level 3. Couple that with slow and steady and you're gonna be really tanky. I personally use, focus fire, never without one, strange medicine and peak condition. I'm very mobile and fast. So I like my high damage. I might change strange medicine at some point but I haven't decided to what.
  5. That's why I always take out the leader first (as long as you get the leader you get the credit right?) And maybe loot half the bodies because I'm too lazy to go through some 15 or so bodies. I only do all of them if there's no one in the immediate or near area. Otherwise I keep my horse close in case I need to bolt. Also, 3. Yes during a hideout I will kill you immediately. I've had those stolen from me too. 4. During a mission, instant deadly force if you come near or if I think you're positioning yourself to snipe. Although while I rode with my posse yesterday, some other posse leader started following me as I was following my leader while he was auto running afk. That sent me into panic mode and I aimed at him. He didn't have his gun out tho. Fired a warning shot. He swerved away for a bit but kept following. Rest of the posse was coming up hot behind him now so if he tried anything he was gonna get blasted to all hell. But surprisingly he didn't do anything. Just tagged along for some reason. Although we started a wagon mission he still followed. Didn't like that, so I and others kept ourselves between him and the wagon just in case.
  6. That's exactly why if I happen to be going in the same direction as someone I make a point of keeping my distance or going around. I've gotten very good at remembering the terrain of most of the map so I can off road it fairly easily. I'm curious and a little for the bounty system coming up. But I'm concerned about how they are gonna discern someone fighting back/defending themselves and someone legit trying to grief. Like what if someone tries to steal from you? We just let them or would we get the law on us for defending our kills? I honestly think that if someone kills an animal that animal can't be picked up by anyone else for at least a couple minutes. I know they have it that way in traditional MMOs, could work here.
  7. I run with a full posse and extra members hanging around. While we wait our missions out (apparently that gives more exp to wait until the last second to turn them in). We are usually hunting/fishing, killing NPCs or any people that want to try to mess with the mission. So we're making money and exp while the mission ticks down. So at almost all times we're constantly gaining exp. I was rank 28 when I met them and in about a week-ish I got to 75 (I'm 77-78 right now). Our leader is rank 138 or something.
  8. 1. If I'm hunting and I just killed something, I'll shoot at or near you but not a headshot if they don't have guns drawn. If guns are out, immediate deadly force. 2. Anyone clearly following me. I will shoot you and your horse immediately. Basically I just generally avoid people. 90% of the time anyone comes up to me it's to kill me. So I usually have my gun drawn if I'm passing close by someone or go into town. My trigger finger is itchy, so you make any suspicious moves you're getting shot or blown the hell up immediately.
  9. I'm rank 77. I started a week after launch. I was going pretty slow until I got into my ever expanding posse (some 25 people that we can choose from or fill up a session with on a good day). The posse has made it extremely fast in getting those ranks. If one of us gets messed with the whole gang and then some will hunt you down. Even our solo members will come help.
  10. I recommend just being more vigilant. I'm almost always on my horse or it's following me. If anyone comes to my camp while I have stuff on my horse I call it over to me or get on it. I usually immediately sell anything I get to avoid theft. And yes I have my horse set to friends only.
  11. I personally don't see any challenge in doing anything in this game without the threat of pvp. The missions are so easy to do, I can do them half asleep. What fun is that? If you want passive mode, go play single player. It's not like you lose anything when you die unless you have pelts. And even then, if someone is persistently bothering me then I just hop to a new session and generally avoid people. Eventually, hopefully sooner rather than later. People killing others for no reason gonna get bounties on them like in the SP. So people will think twice before they blast some random in the head while hunting. The auto aim should be toggleable. As I have bad sight so it helps me play otherwise I'd probably never hit anyone lol. Which is why I'm kind of an up close fighter sometimes. (Anyone moving faster than a trot/jog becomes blurry to me, just my messed up eyes).
  12. If you're not terribly worried about speed and stamina, there turkoman is the best option. It's great in a shootout, doesn't spook and fight you in my experience. I use the silver turkoman when I'm fighting at night because I blend in very well. I do the same with the brown foxtrotter and green/black clothes. But I generally use my silver dapple foxtrotter for most things as my play style is to be very mobile, although she sticks out like a sore thumb. It's what I used in SP. As far as temperament, they are almost even with the turk winning out. Although, I sometimes feel it varies. Because my horse will follow me everywhere even if it puts her in danger. Where as my friend's horse is hard headed lol. I am not fond of the Arabians at all. Although their stats are pretty on paper, the temperament kills it for me. I have literally ran down cougars and gators with the turk. I have noticed, as far as "personality", the Turks are very.... sassy? Lol. The Foxes are more chill. Arabians are like brat children tho. Currently have both coats of foxtrotter and the silver Turk.
  13. I personally don't mind being killed in all instances except when I'm standing around doing nothing. If I'm doing a mission, feel free to challenge me, it's fun. I don't mind a scuffle over kills and hunting spots. If I killed your friend or something, go for it. But if I haven't done anything to you or I'm just standing around, leave me be. I personally don't grief and only get violent IF PEOPLE CAN'T BE CIVIL ABOUT IT. After that, all hell breaks loose. I had someone follow me to the butcher, didn't try to kill me, stood behind me, then when I was done kill me. And I'm like, but why tho? Or as soon as I log in I'm shot and even when I respawn and RUN away, they are still shooting at me. I was also sitting up in a barn second story minding my business looking at the catalogue and here comes someone up the ladder to shoot me. Good thing I was listening and reacted quickly. Like, why the hell you gotta be a douche like that?
