Official: Game Play Trailer Released Aug 9th
Cokeyskunk replied to CMcC's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
AHH!! But what if that's Rockstar's great plan for fighting the "gankers and griefers"?? In the real world, 150 years ago, these same types existed! Robbery was rampant. Murder was commonplace. Bandits and gangs ran the show. (That's what these jerks would be! Outlaw gangs!) THEN . . . Justice appeared! . . . in the form of sheriffs, marshals, and gathered posses! They'd amass their forces, hunt them down, and either arrest them or execute them. HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO EXECUTE A TROLL?? Or HEY! What if you could throw them into jail, and they'd INSTANTLY lose all their weapons and much of their money?? (kinda like in GTA) Then, they'd have to start all over again. That's quite literally "policing" trolls! I love this . . . #ihopeihopeihope -

You bring up a good point. I realize "respawning" is not a real-world thing, but this game would be boring as funk if it didn't exist in it. That said, how cool would it be if they made this game to be as real-world as possible? Like, if you do as you say and acquire a special gun in multiplayer, modify it, add embellishments, etc. -- but if you get killed, you have to re-acquire it. Whether it be to race back to your death site or to get it off the person who picked it up from you. (whether by purchase, by trade, or by force.) Speaking of which, how cool would it be if we could HOLD-UP other players and rob them?? Man, there could be SO MUCH in this game that could be so cool. But the @Truth of the matter is -- I'll still love it, regardless. -
What kind of tv shows annoy you the most?

I still remember that dude who did the series of "PLEASE Give Me A Million Dollars" videos on YouTube. He kept making them until someone actually did. -
I hear you, but that's difficult to do. When the story's over . . . it's over, right? I mean, they let you keep playing so you can get to 100% completion, but once you're there, what more is there to do? They'd have to continually release new side missions to keep you invested. Isn't that time better spent adding more to RDR:O? All that being said, it WOULD be cool if they did add ONE special FINAL mission which doesn't activate UNLESS you get to 100% in single-player mode. THAT might keep players invested in the game after the story mode is over?

24 hours from now. What are you expecting/hoping/praying to see or not see from it? -
That would be weird now, wouldn't it? ????

Multiplayer Game Modes (Hold Your Own, Grab the Bag, etc.)
Cokeyskunk replied to Cokeyskunk's topic in Red Dead Redemption 2
See, it's THESE things right here that will always make me love RDR more that GTA. In GTA, they can give you all the above-described garbage to instantly (and repeatedly) destroy/murder/blow-up enormous groups of people. In RDR, what do you get? A horse, ancient guns, and a stick of dynamite. Of course, I realize that doesn't negate the possibility of causing an enormous explosion in RDR (a la Guy Fawkes' method for Parliament. "Remember, remember . . . ") But if one WERE to do that, they'd have to stockpile TONS of gunpowder in one place, then attract a large group there and detonate it. Want to do that? Fine! BOOM! Wow, you got us! That would be kinda cool, actually! Wouldn't make me mad. My point is: they COULD do it -- but with tremendous effort and committed time. Not, "Imma blow ya up, and when you respawn, Imma just blow ya up again." This is why RDR will always be a superior game to me. -

I did try GTA:O shortly after I completed the single-player mode. I kept getting murdered within two minutes of playing. I just didn't have the time to invest in learning how to stay alive. (I figured I'd have to fight constantly to do it) so, I just gave up after a while. -
Well, I did say "usual". I'm very much hoping this game, like GTA V, is an exception!

Eh, close enough to his 20's.

You mean you DIDN'T donate toward the extra $100 million to make poor Kylie Jenner the world's youngest "self-made" BILLIONAIRE? ???? Sorry. "Hey, give me money so I can be a billionaire" does NOT equate to being "self-made" in my book. -

Well, if you're bored, you can spend the rest of your free time liking all my posts. ???? -
Oh good! I graduated in the mid-nineties, so I was afraid I might be the only Gen-X'er here. High five, brother! ???? If this is the case, I REALLY hope it takes a lot to knock that friggin' hat off. Like, it better not fly off just by running fast on a horse. Otherwise, all my in-game budget is going to go toward buying #&@%ing hats.

I don't really consider it "trolling" if you're momentarily giving some buddies a hard time. Now, if you ALWAYS give them a hard time NON-STOP, that's a little different. But yes, I usually equate "trolling" to randoms. But if you're constantly targeting certain people, I guess that could be trolling.
-
Your eyes are opened. You now can see. ???? Trolls can be relentless. They are the cancer of the gaming world. I think trolls should be hunted down by a posse IRL.
-
Ahh, but if a group of trolls decide to troll YOU and all report you together, wouldn't that get you banned for nothing?

Rockstar's pretty good at keeping their game well-run. I'll be interested to see how they combat trolls in this game. GO GET 'EM, @Truth!!! ???? -
Yes, but did you get the reference?? (HINT: Google "Safety Dance") ????

Multiplayer Game Modes (Hold Your Own, Grab the Bag, etc.)

Yep. When I started playing F13, you had to be DAMN careful when lashing out at Jason after he grabbed another counselor. And you COULDN'T blast him with the shotgun 'cause that almost guaranteed death for your co-player. It added a creepy dynamic to the game. Then -- as time went by, you'd start a game and see two players armed with pre-spawned baseball bats SPRINTING toward you, yelling "YOU BETTA RUN!! YOU BETTA RUN, B!%@#!!!" So then, we had to get away from Jason AND troll counselors! Jerks . . . -
That's hilarious. Didn't notice it, and now that's all I can see! Upon further research, it appears that Jack Marston was actually born in the very same year as Shemp Howard. Kinda makes his cowboy wardrobe all the more goofy, doesn't it?

So, I used to love to play the multiplayer game modes. But one thing on one of the games I remember hating was in "Hold Your Own" - one of my favorites. I got REALLY good at it - knew where all the best places were to run and hide while advancing toward the bag. Then, after grabbing the bag, I knew how to dodge fire from the other team while running back to my team's chest to drop it off. What I hated: right when I'd be about to drop the bag off and get the points/credit/money for it -- I'd either see a dynamite stick appear at the chest, which would blow me up right before I got there -- or else I'd get sniped FIVE FEET from the chest. . . . and BOTH of these were by my OWN TEAM MEMBERS. They'd kill me so THEY could pick up the bag and get the points, then go hide again and do it to the next fella. Look. I HAVE been known to defend "camping" before, but that's ONLY in a "Shootout" game -- where the only objective is to get as many kills as possible. Sure, camp away. All's fair in love and war. I get it. But to have your OWN TEAM MEMBERS kill you and steal your hard-earned reward from you. THAT sucked. THAT is "griefing" to me. One thing I DID love about RDR was the "Vote to Kick" option. If some jackwagon decided to do that repeatedly, he'd eventually get enough voted to be kicked out of the game. I have no doubt RDR2 will have similar multiplayer game modes. But will they do anything to keep the garbage described above from happening?
