The game has been extra buggy and filled with hackers this week (I play on PC). Several times this week, I've been pulled away from whatever I was doing and spawned into a random spot on the map, along with half a dozen other players, and blown up with dynamite. A few times I've been riding along and spontaneously combust, get tossed into the air multiple times and the death screen says I killed myself by "falling". This morning, a player spawned right next to me and started shooting. I respawned, shot him several times in the head and didn't hurt him at all. He disappeared & I thought he left the server, but 15 minutes later he does the same thing. He had apparently pulled another player into the same spot and was fighting him, so I sniped him with the rolling block (I accidentally killed the player he was fighting. Kinda felt bad about that). I know I got several headshots on him, but his apparent godmode saved him again, so I said screw it and logged off for a while. None of these events really bother me all that much (the godmode does a bit, because I had no chance of fighting back), but it seems to be happening more & more. This is the first R* game I've played, but I've heard about some crazy things that happen in GTA, and it's obvious the same is happening to RDO. As for the bugs, they have all been with the camp. I always choose the camp option when entering free roam, and it's nearly always spawned correctly, but I don't think it's worked but a few times this week. Of course, I can pay $2 to pitch it, but having to do that every time I log in pisses me off. I've even spawned into other players camps a few times. A few times, I've spawned into my camp, only to have Cripps pack it up a few minutes later and force me to pay to pitch it again. Always nice to see Cripps just wander off into the woods. The camp doesn't disappear, but I can't interact with anything until I spend $2 to reset it. Of course, it gets pitched in another location, as well. This morning I spawned into my own camp. Everything seemed fine, so I rode off to complete the daily Trader missions, but when I went back to camp, it was nowhere to be seen. The map icon was there, and the menu said it was up, but it apparently had a cloaking device. I haven't played much of the story mode, so I think I'll play that out for now. As for online, I'm only going to do a daily or two to keep my streak going. I might stick to collecting, too. Don't need a camp for that and I can make some cash until R* gets the bugs sorted. I may be a millionaire before that happens, though. Sorry for the long rant. I know most of you have put up with bugs for a lot longer than I have. If you read it, I'd love to hear any thoughts on bugs & hacking.

If nothing of value can be taken, it would seem that the biggest worry we have about being raided is someone killing Cripps. So what happens if he is killed? Does he respawn? Do we have to pitch the camp again to get him back? That could be a pain with the camp spawning issues (camps have been pretty consistent on PC lately, for me). I've only seen my camp being attacked once, and I'm not entirely sure it was an attack. I came back to camp to find Cripps having a shootout with a couple of NPC's, but it stopped as soon as I got back. My camp was set right next to Thieves Landing and there are always NPC's around that area, so I'm not sure what exactly happened, though.

You did a great job on your character, and that makes me wish I'd spent a bit more time on mine. I do have a coupon for a free change of appearance, though. Hopefully that's a full remake, and not just a coupon for a visit to the barber.

Thanks for the info. I don't mind dogs, but you never know if the developers went overboard & made it annoying. Using the dog for the dog petting daily is a good tip, too. Took me a while to find one the last time that one came up.

I'm considering getting a camp dog, as I have the Husky available. Just wondering how much noise the dog makes in camp (barking, growling, whining, etc.). Also, do I need to take care of it the same way I do my horse? Since Cripps runs the camp, I'd expect him to take care of that. The noise is my main concern. I can see it getting old pretty quickly, much like Cripps recounting the same stories over & over. Also, if I don't like the dog, is there a way to remove it?

I thought that was worth looking into, so I checked the prices for different loads. I thought the prices were different with each wagon upgrade, but I'm not sure about that and I don't see a way to switch wagons. With the large wagon, these are the prices for each level: 25 goods = $62.50 local or $78.12 distant 50 goods = $150 local or $187.50 distant 75 goods = $300 local or $375 distant 100 goods = $500 local or $625 distant

Thanks for confirming that. I'd still like to see it, but at least it won't bug me as much knowing it's not a glitch.

I've played little of the Story mode (still on chapter 2) but hopped back into it yesterday and realized that Arthur is sporting a nice storage pouch, and that it doesn't render on my character in Online mode. That pouch sure looks nice, and now when I hop into Online mode, the fact that it's missing just bugs the heck out of me. I know it's a small thing with all of the other bugs, but it's one I have to see every time I play now. I'm on PC and just wondering if this is a bug in my game, or something that affects everyone.

I'd recommend buying the hunting wagon as soon as you're able. That makes keeping Cripps stocked so much easier, plus if you're in need of cash, filling the wagon and selling to a butcher will bring decent cash pretty quickly. As others mentioned, the large wagon is what makes the most money, but it sure takes a lot longer to fill, as well. You can deliver any size load (25, 50, 75 & 100), but only a full load pays well. The only time I'd do a small load is if a daily mission requires selling items and you don't have the time to wait for a full load. One other tip is to donate everything to Cripps: feathers, fangs, antlers, etc. Every item donated brings in 5 XP, and while it doesn't seem like much, it does add up. Of course, once you max out your rank, there's no point in donating those and it's better to sell them to a butcher. Sorry if that was more info than you were looking for. Thought it might help you and anyone else who comes across the post.

I heard from Rockstar today, possible fix coming?
Dr_Wigglespank replied to lumper's topic in Troubleshooting
I've had a bit of experience with their support and I'm betting this is yet another canned response in hopes that they'd be able to close the ticket. My support tickets have always been answered in the middle of the night, which makes me believe their support center is located someplace like India. Nothing wrong with that, but in my dealings with them, it's apparent that they're just working off of a script and it takes a lot to get to someone who will actually help you. You said you'd been going back & forth with them for a while, so maybe you actually did get some real news, but until I see those fixes in the patch notes, it means very little. Unfortunately, there's not a single mention of bug fixes in this weeks update. -
Moonshiner Sucks at first level... help me believe.
Dr_Wigglespank replied to Boot Smith's topic in Red Dead Online
I'm a solo player, and I totally get the frustration with the Moonshiner & Trader roles. Trader is a total time sink, and Moonshiners seems designed with a posse in mind, at least as far as the deliveries go. The bootlegger missions are easy enough to do alone. The hunting cart is totally worth grinding, though, as you can make decent cash selling to a butcher, if needed. The large wagon takes a lot of time & effort to fill, but it sure brings in the cash. Exploiting cougar spawns sounds like a good plan, too. For the Collector role, there's an awesome interactive online map that shows the daily spots for all collectibles: https://jeanropke.github.io/RDR2CollectorsMap/ I was spending a lot of money buying maps from Nazar until I found out about the online map, and now just buy maps when a daily mission calls for using them. Using fast travel and a fast horse, you can complete several collections in just a few hours of game play. I tried to collect all of the collectibles in one day and it took well over six hours. I started at Tumbleweed and worked my way across the entire map. I made a ton of cash (over 4K), but now I just collect the more valuable items over a couple days of play and still end up with a decent haul. It's easy to bring in 2K every couple of days. -
Thanks for confirming that. I'll definitely be purchasing it next time I log in.

Thanks for the help guys. I've already reached rank 100 in the Outlaw Pass and received all of the free gifts, and I was concerned it would reset if I buy it. It seems pretty easy to earn gold in the game, so even if the items I want cost gold, I'll make that back pretty quickly with the daily missions. Just have to get that streak up there.

I started playing online a few weeks ago, but now that I've got some experience & ranked up, I'm interested in quite a few items from the Outlaw Pass 2. It costs 40 gold bars on PC, but I see that I can earn the 40 gold bars back, which seems like a nice deal. Do I keep those gold bars, or do I have to spend it to unlock items? If I have to purchase it for 40, then spend the earnable 40 to unlock items, that nice deal goes out the window. Without purchasing it, I've reached rank 100 just by playing the game. If I do purchase it, do I have to restart at rank 1, or do I keep that max rank and just have everything already unlocked? Any help would be appreciated.
