I don't know if this was a fluke but I was on my way to the trapper with a perfect cow hide. I came across 2 rabbits, both 3 star, I killed on and hung it on the saddle. I killed the 2nd and skinned, stored the skin and hung the skinned carcass on the other side of the saddle. Went to the trapper, the complete perfect carcass he paid $5.50, the skinned carcass he paid $.60 and perfect pelt he paid me $1.50 so it does seem like the complete carcass is worth more. I normally just skin them all since they don't go bad and only sell them when I'm full or happen to be at a trader/butcher. I guess what I'll probably do is keep only pelts and when I'm on my way to the trapper/butcher if one comes along I'll shoot it and hang it, otherwise a few dollars here or there isn't going to make a big difference.

I haven't been able to find online, but I have RDR2 on Xbox 1 and PS4. I bought it pre-order on Xbox1 w/ the Special version so it had the DLC for the War horse and an outfit, I think it's called Neuvo Gunslinger outfit, dapple thoroughbred, and the Outlaw Survival Kit. I bought the game used on PS4 but it had a DLC card in the box, I figured it wouldn't work but it did, it doesn't say what it is other then Red Dead Redemption 2 DLC. When I look at my character on PS4 he has an extra outfit that my Xbox 1 guy doesn't have, it's called a Gunslinger, different than the one on Xbox. Anyone else seen this? I'll try and take screenshots.

I will say it's like having precious cargo on board once you get that rare 3 star pelt you need and have been looking for, FOR HOURS! Once I had the 3 star panther I loaded up my shotgun and told myself, "Anything that gets in my way is going to DIE". I just knew I was going to be attacked by raiders or wolves on my way back, sure enough 5 wolves came after me, I shot them all, 1-shotted each with the double barrel shotgun, picked up there leftover 1 & 2 star pelts as a consolation prize and kept on my way back to the camp.

So here is my ? If I kill a 3 star animal and sell the entire 3 star carcass to the butcher or trapper do I receive the same amount as if I split it up? i.e. let's stay I get $7 for a perfect unskinned 3 star buck. If I skinned that buck first and then sold both parts to the trapper or butcher would I receive $4 (pelt) and $3 (carcass)? Just wondering which is better as far as making money goes? Thank you.

Well I finally got, late into the night, I did like ya'll suggested and saved it, then went to the spot. The darn thing killed me 5 times, one of which I was aiming at it to shoot it and the game comes up and asks me if I'd like to auto save, I get all flustered and say no, then when the game unpauses the panther is on my biting me to death. I was cussing it pretty good. Finally got and then took the pelt to camp. Went Northwest and got the cougar on the first try. Also picked up a perfect bear pelt to complete all the crafted Chaps at the trapper. On to trapping, killing, and looting. Still on chapter 3 but this satchel will definitely help now that I can hold 99 items.

HOLY COW extremely frustrating. So I've been looking for this darn perfect panther for ever. I find it shoot, take it back to camp and it says it's a perfect panther carcass. I go back to my horse to skin it to get the pelt and it's gone! Nothing in my inventory, nothing! I go back to the place where I killed it, this time I find another but it's a 2 star panther. I've been at this for hours.

I've only come across 1 panther, he ripped my head off LOL, going hunting now. IT WILL BE MINE!

Looking at it now, I need 1 perfect panther to complete the Kit satchel, then I'll need 1 perfect cougar to complete the Legend one. Not sure where to get panthers, I know cougars are West side of Strawberry.

I'm only in chapter 3 myself, I thought I was farther along, been playing since day one, A LOT! I've completed probably 80% of the trapper outfit and clothes and probably 90% of the camping upgrades. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and taming wild horses more than the missions LOL

Excellent, thank you sir. I almost cried last night, I was over getting 3 star beaver pelts, a 3 star Wolf showed up, then a 3 star moose. I got them all, then made a bee-line to the trapper and camp, I proceeded to fall in the darn lake and the moose and wolf fell off the horse, I was like oh HELL NO, but I was able to pick them up out of the water. I was nervous as all get out LOL

OK cool, I completed the "materials" one last night so I guess I'll go with that one. I don't have the last one completed and one other, not sure which. I didn't really care about tonics, just wanted the one that allows for more small pelts/skins. Thank you sir.

Can someone explain which is better? When I read the descriptions it doesn't really say what one does over the other. Some hint towards tonics, or cash items, but "general items" or "provisions" isn't really clear. https://twinfinite.net/2018/11/red-dead-redemption-2-satchel-upgrades-how-get/ I've crafted all but 2 of them and I can't tell you if one does more than the other. If I had to pick one I'd rather have one that allows for more rabbit pelts and small pelts, if that's even an option. It would be nice if it would break down what the regular satchel holds vs the upgraded ones?

Last night I got tired of trying different things so I threw dynamite up there, it blew up all the lanterns but when I came back the next day he was still there and the lanterns were all fixed.

Good idea, I went back and tried this, when I aim the lasso at him the red dot turns grey, so no it won't let me lasso him. Same thing when I aim a weapon at him, it turns from red to grey like I can't shoot him. Very VERY strange.

It's wild how I've searched a lot online and no one really gives you any information on how or what to do. I've yet to see anyone post anything showing they have the gun, other than that one posts that shows the gun, but they don't show actually earning it, more like a screen shot of the weapon.

I wish it was that simple, I've spent WAY TOO MANY hours trying to get this dang gun.

I'm a plumber and do service calls, a lot of times it's for college kids and some have the Xbox 1 X and others have the PS4 Pro. The biggest cost thing that scares me away is with both you need to buy a 4k TV for it to even matter, you also have to have a 4K HDMI cable which is considerably more than an standard HDMI. Those costs plus the upgraded machine costs, I don't see a night and day difference, not $100s+ dollars in my opinion. If it was like the difference between the original Xbox and Xbox 1 then I'd look more into it, but the slight differences (yes better lighting and load times) aren't worth the upgrade costs. I'm going to wait for an upgrade for the next gen console.

He's in an elevated position. One you can't get to. If you shoot him he falls, above you where you can't get to him.

I've been trying to figure out the cave hermit. If anyone has some tips it would be greatly appreciated. Supposedly reading online you can Thank you for any tips/suggestions. I've searched google and youtube and haven't fund much of anything on this one.

I have it on both. I've played more on Xbox1 as I bought it pre-order. PS4 I was able to find it used last week. I would say my Xbox 1 controllers last longer on a charge if you're comparing things that way and this game vibrates a lot so it does go through some controller recharging. I don't have an Xbox 1 X or PS4 Pro, I have an Xbox 1 S and PS4 slim so I can't speak for the graphics as the 1X and Pro are supposed to be nicer with the 4k. The 1S and Slim the graphics looks amazing to me. I see no difference, can't say one is better than the other. If I only had one to get I'd get the version where my friends play as multiplayer is coming out soon.

I agree it's nice they respawn, otherwise it wouldn't take long to wipe out everyone and every animal.
