I went up to this location, saw a large moose, got off my horse to track it, I came around a tree and poof the moose vanished. It was strange, it's like it just disappeared.

CORRECTION this was the Butcher at Strawberry for me, not the Trapper.

I was in Strawberry and he wasn't at his stall, all his items were gone and his spot was not on the mini-map. When I walked up to his stall there was a quick message on the top left of the screen, I didn't catch it all, something about he is currently away. I went to the trapper instead and then later, like a few days later, came back to Strawberry and he was back. I know they leave at night but this was the first time I'd seen him leave for more than a day and it looked like he'd moved out. He's back now though.

Sorry I will have to search better, I was looking and didn't see a thread. If a mod could move mine or combine mine to the other threads that would keep everything together.

After you said this I went to the gun-smith and fancied up all my weapons, not sure on how to get the best picture of them though.

So I was out and about and found a rival gang. I shot the whiskey bottle or moonshine jug sitting in the middle and everything flew up and caught on fire, I was pretty surprised!

So I was riding my main horse, found a wild 1/2 Hungarian, broke that horse and made it my temporary, then told the main horse to follow, then found a splashed white Paint and jumped on it, rode it to level 1, had all 3 in tow, sold both temps at the stables.

I'll try this, I did notice while off the horse there is only 1 option, not the 3 I've found.

I've found a few different knives and tomahawks in my travels. I'm able to read about but not change which one is equipped. Anyone have any tips on how to go about this? It seems like I still have for the regular knife even though I see a couple others in my commendations menu. The tomahawks will equip the latest one I've found, I can't seem to switch them out. Thanks for any tips/suggestions.

I wonder if this is why Xbox Live has been struggling the last couple of nights? Millions of users downloading 100+ gigs has to be hard on their servers.

Fun fact, did you know if you equip the pocket watch in your inventory, select it and choose "use" it will then display the pocket watch on the pause menu and the time displayed on the pocket watch is the actual time in the game. I was impressed with this level of detail. You can check it by pressing down on the d-pad to see the in-game time. Then press the pause button and the pocket watch reflects the same time. The little things they think of in this game are amazing.

Agreed, I was having a hard time getting him to swap it out too and mistakenly tapped L1 and it swapped out the weapon, it seems like the hint menu tells you something about holding L1 and selecting it, that wasn't working for me, tapping L1 quickly does.

Thank you for the newspaper tip, I didn't know about that one. My buddy pointed out the cheat menu in the settings window and we couldn't figure out what how to use it, mine are all locked, I figured it was something you get later in the game. I'll go buy a newspaper now 🙂

No problem. For me I ONLY use it when there is a hide or pelt I want to return to the trapper and am worried about losing it, otherwise I enjoy the side-track stuff they throw at you. Normally I'm thinking, ok I'll take these pelts to the trapper and that turns into 3-4 side things along the way LOL

I don't use it much but when I ride with a partner (yellow person on the map) or part of a mission yes, I have to hold down A. If I'm just traveling say from way up north to the trapper I select the trapper on the map, then go into the cinema screen and it takes me there all the way, no pressing A.

You can also hold down the camera button to go into cinema mode so it will "fast travel" to your next destination then get a drink or whatever while he's traveling. I like the noises personally it gives me some feedback that I need to let off before I kill him. LOL It's a horse not a machine.

I have only shaved the "Chops" since I started the game, once my goatee made it to level 4 it maxed out, it told me it wouldn't get any longer without apply tonic. I'm going for the full blown goatee (ala ZZ TOP) so I'm applying tonic 🙂

I picked up the first one for Xbox, it's backwards compatible it was on sale this spring for around $7 in the xbox store. I really enjoyed it and that is what made me excited for this one. I bought this one and MAN this is one of the first games in a LONG LONG time I can happily recommend to my buddies I would not hesitate to buy again at full price. That's hard to say for a lot of games today where normally I wait until later for them to go on sale. I've put some many hours into Red Dead 2 it's been well worth the asking price. As far as graphics go I felt the same way as you when I started playing, this game feels like a movie! Most game start out looking super nice, then the screen zooms in and you take over controls and it doesn't quite look as crisp and fancy, not this game when you start playing it looks the same, like a freaking western movie! I'm loving!
