I am just curious and I am in no way trying to be rude here, but why is not HZD a good comparison?

HZD is a multiplayer game like PUBG, with a lot of real players. It is a difference to a singleplayer game. You can´t comparison a game like pubg with a singleplayer open world title.

HZD is a purely single player experience... You must be thinking of something else.

 

HZD is also a open world game, albeit not as large as RDR2 but not many games are.

H1Z1 is the online battle royale multiplayer game.

Played Horizon Zero Dawn a lot. It is real impressive and a good game for comparison. Snow in Frozen Wilds looks nearly like the snow at the beginning in RDR2. Best HDR support

Strange is that the pro version looks not like on this comparison. Horizon Zero dawn looks way better as in this fanboy video.

you mean Horizon Zero Dawn. THis is one of the best looking open world titles. Sorry for my mistake. 😂

They really made a lot of irritating artistic decisions in this game. The bottom of the screen is tinted darker than the rest of the screen to emulate “realistic” peripheral vision. So damn distracting.

Sorry to disappoint you, but that was just a generic answer given by R*Intel on October 30th. There's nothing proving that they have indeed acknowledged the blur or even the HDR issues..

You're the first person I see talking about it. The bottom of the screen has a sort of arc-shaped filter, which makes things in the center of the screen sharper than the sides, but the effect sucks.

This effect sucks a lot in forests, where we have a lot of trees and foliage. This game has a overdose of special effects. It looks like some enb series mods of the past of GTA San Andreas, GTA IV and V on the PC. Or Skyrim.

I feel drunk on playing this game. I need no alcohol to produce ths feeling, but with some bottles of beer, the game looks better.

RDR2 goes from the most beautiful graphics I've ever seen, to one of the most disappointing. It's very beautiful when you leave your character standing on the screen, or moving forward without moving the camera, just turn the camera a little faster than the graphics are thrown in the trash, with a mixture of too aggressive motion blur with horrible filters, and everything is doubled and blurry .

In my opinion the graphics and the weather effects are just beautiful in this game. Something that was never there before. While you play the game, the charakter and certain objects in the front or center are sharp. In the back everything gets blurred like an autofocus on a digital camera. When you push the share button you can either see the game like it was meant to be on ps4 or just like how it looks like on the xbox one x. I guess if you make a screenshot with the share button, you get a static true 4K picture. While playing it’s dynamic checkerboarding. Perhaps that’s why it’s blurry.

It‘s sad.. A pitty.. But the game is playable in my opinion but you have to get used to it. 

I don’t know if a patch can fix this because otherwise the ps4 pro version would look like the xbox one x version or am I wrong? Could be that the XBOX version looks even better, I have no clue and it’s not important that much.

What I wanted to say is, the game is stunning. But the most annoying thing for me is that if you look trough your binaculars and zoom to max, everything is just so blurry you cannot see anything. Try to zoom on max while looking on trees for example and press the share button. You will see what I mean.

Or in cabins there are often pictures on the wall. Try to look at them in detail trough your binacurals.. You can just the silhouettes of what should be there. Then press the share button. Boom.

That is what annoys me. To see in particular, to press the share button once in a while is a must.

Some the things on here ARE rubbish.. tv modes etc wont fix the blurring.

The sharpness slider is only meant for 1080p mode and tricking it into 4k mode etc is NOT a fix.

And yes sharpness or screen quality is that issue, basically the whole point of this topic. 

When im and numerous others are getting headaches from the 4k/SS Mode, something is wrong.

Trying to trigger someone with the baby comment is just immature.

It’s how game companies listen to their communities if you google the problem on blurry textures THIS thread is near the top  due to the replies and activity it’s got. So yes the more we complain the more it’ll get noticed

On the first page of this topic I was one of the first to say that rockstar was aware of the problem but having signed a contract with sony and not harming the sale of ps4 pro they simply ignored the problem.

You believe that in 8 years of development the game has not been tested and this problem has not been seen by rockstar let's see it's too big to be true.

Moreover this opens the door to a remastered version for future next-gen.
They just took the players for pigeons in this story.

personally I do not believe for a moment, it's a purely commercial strategy.
