Rdr2 graphics blurry PS4 Pro

For a game that took 8 years to launch, it came with serious problems, not only with blur and graphics problems. I already did missions and then went to play again and had to do the missions again, because the automatic save did not work, not to mention that for 3 times my horses simply disappeared, horses that paid a lot of money simply disappeared and were changed by the standard horse. several times I had to select an item and repeat 3 times to work. These are very big problems that were ignored in the reviews. I know the problem with blurry graphics is just one of many, so I do not expect a quick Rockstar solution. For sure they will prioritize problems like missions where main characters disappear from the game and other problems. I do not speak English, I'm using google translator.

I, like you all, have been annoyed by the lack of enhanced graphics on the PS4 Pro. It boggles my mind how this could have even happened. The first example of a developer making the visuals for their game WORSE on the pro. And which developer does it? The one with huge resources, staff, and who spent 8 years developing the game? Wow.

Anyway, I have found that changing the output to 1080p sharpens the image. Of course, this is not a fix. Rockstar should fix it. But, set to 1080p on a 4k TV with upscaling: I think it looks pretty damn good. I also have the HDR on. I find the lighting to be better, but I set the HDR level to 250-300, despite having an LED TV. The recommended 100 level seems to dark for me. Also, I increase my TVs sharpness way up to 70-80. This really makes the details on arthur pop, I find. 

 

Here are a couple snapshots taken with my Samsung S8+. The first one shows the 1080p output image, and the second shows the checkerboard 4k image. I prefer the first. I think the textures on the walls in particular are much clearer and sharper with the 1080p image.

Please, no posts anymore that 1080p fixes the blur issue. That is not a solution for a ps4 pro gamer with a 4k tv.

I'm not saying it's a solution. I'm just showing that it's an improvement, imo, switching to 1080p, and it's a workaround for those frustrated by the 2160p blur and yet still wanting to play. I agree that rockstar should fix it.

For me, it is no improvement. When I´m starting other games it looks like failed resolution crap without details. i´m not changing settings anymore on my tv for this game and all my other all around working games looking like crap.

Running it in 1080p mode on a 1080p tv has definitely been an improvement over supersampling mode.

No headaches. 

Soon as i switch to SS mode.. my eyes strain and i get headaches after 30mins or so.

Im not sure how 1080p mode looks on a 4k tv but its an improvement on a 1080 set.

This is my experience as well. I have a 4k tv in my living room and a 47 inch 1080p tv in my bedroom and it is way better to play the game on the 1080p without ss as is. I know this is not a solution, but it is a temporary fix.

Only one fix - buy Xbox one X.
And if its look crazy, imagine what in my sh*t country Xbox X cost little bit more than 1 average salary in my city... and i did it

Already own a PS4, PS4-PRO and an XoneX, the game runs smoothest on the pro with native 1080p settings no ss and no hdr. It still looks the best on the XoneX but I still prefer it on the PRO as I prefer frame rate before visuals. I also own a one month old PC that I payed 2500€ for and that system is my preferred platform normally with games released for both consoles and PC. I am a sucker and will probably buy the game for the third time when it is released on PC but for now, the PS4-PRO works fine. 

 

May I ask where you are from, just out of curiosity since that seems like a very expensive country or that the average salary is horrible.

same in romania .. average salary is 400euro, xbox one x is 520euro .. not as bad as brazil.. but hey.. that's life.. 
that is why i am mad when you buy a 60euro game.. and looks like a dog turd

Ok, I can certainly understand that. I am from Sweden but have worked in Europe, UAE and Japan and I am lucky enough to make a lot more than the average salary even here in Sweden. Still, I would not buy a console for one game. But as you can see, I am stupid enough to buy the same game for multiple systems 😞. I hope the economy will grow in Romania so the average salary soon can be on par with the greater part of EU.

I doubt that.. all politicians in romania are corrupted, and now they want to change the law to make corruption legal..

I'm from Brazil and really here unfortunately it's a luxury to buy a console. Taxes are too high, too much corruption and few who went to prison on account of this. Judicial system is also corrupt and worsened too much in the last 14 years (eaten by the extreme left, a government that has always lied and bought the poor vote with alms, to stay in power and to enrich, but I trust the new president a lot, I think it's a honest person.Of course after decades of corruption, it will not be in a mandate that everything will change, but it is already a step.

To return to the theme, there are only palliative solutions. None of these options will change the artistic decision of programmers. The game has a horrible blur on any console. I only see a viable solution if they put an option to disable motion blur and other "effects"

Once again, wait for the online patch, then we will see, a pc version would be very welcome.

I read for a few hours online mode comes at the end of novemeber. I hope they do something for the blur. It will be not playable with this blur on multiplayer. I´m not playing multiplayer games anymore, but I hope for fixes in the singleplayermode. I would give the game a second chance, when they do something for the blurry image.

I played almost a week without the patch. Same thing, change nothing!

Red Dead Redemption 2's multiplayer mode kicks off at 1.30pm UK time on Tuesday, 27th November for all buyers of the Ultimate Edition of the game.

On Wednesday, 28th November, all those who played the game on its launch day (26th October) can join the beta.

Thursday, 29th November, the beta opens up to anyone who played during the launch weekend (26th to 29th October).

And finally, on Friday, 30th November, any Red Dead Redemption 2 player can join the beta.
