Rdr2 graphics blurry PS4 Pro

Hmm i think im on to something. Looking at the posts above it seems that you guys are experiences way worse problems than me. I have a very fast SSD installed in mine and games like this stream data pretty heavily.

Can you guys take some photos from Valentine and then we compare?  After turning off HDR it looks very clear in daylight time for me. But my PS4 Pro is not standard, SSD installed so maybe that has something to do with it? No idea or my eyes are bad 😛

Those with blur, take photo of it and i will go to the same scene and daylight to see if its any different.

 

Edit: NEVER MIND! I moved more close to the TV and holy hell the motion blur. So yeah if youre close to the TV then this is truly a nightmare. I sit 3-4 meters away. But going closer even the trees really close to me are just out of focus.

I have been  onto rockstar at the minute and i am having a very strange chat the guy doesn’t seem to know what’s going on

 

he did however suggest this 

press L1 and r1 when game boots up

and clears the cache 

 

I must say it didn’t look blurry when it loaded however my blur is intermittent 

 

i will attach my full chat transcript if people want to try the l1 r1 and let me know if it’s worked for them 

 

as you you can see he didn’t want to commit to anything

i garauntee you are playing on a TV with a lower frame rate than mine. Or you WOULD NOT SEE ANY BLUR ON UNCHARTED 4.

if you are on a 300$ Walmart TV with a framrate under 120hz YOUR OPINION ON THIS ISSUE DOESNT MATTER BECAUSE YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. 

ALL GAMES ON ALL SYSTEMS LOOK LIKE sh*t IN 4K ON ANY TV WITH A FRAMERATE UNDER 240hz

its pissing me off people chiming in that have NO frame of reference!!!!

If this is true, then it means it might be patchable! I don't have access to my PS4 Pro at the moment but does this work for anyone else that might be playing now?

Yep I play about 2-4 feet away from the TV and even then it’s noticeable. For example, get closer to the TV and switch the camera to the closest setting (using the touch pad) to Arthur’s back. Note how fuzzy and out of focus his clothes and bandolier are. His hair and bear and little details like that are all muddy and blurry. The muddiness and blurriness are even more glaring in first person.

Really wish my post wouldn’t have instantly got pushed way up.

it is important that EVERYONE in this conversation be on a 240hz or higher TV. The cheap Walmart “4K” TV’s will make an xboneX look blurry and motion blurred!!!! EVEN 4k movies LOOK THAT WAY on those cheap POSs!!!

the guy who said uncharted looks worse is WRONG. Uncharted 4 on the pro on a REAL TV  is TWICE as clear and the movement is great on a 240hz or higher TV. RDR2 looks like sh*t on the PS4 PRO ON ALL TVs!!!!!!!!!

we need a thread for ONLY people with super high end TVs....

because comments like that about uncharted 4 are FLAT OUT WRONG. And it makes the rest of us seem like we are just nitpicking and that “that’s what checkerboarding looks like!” WRONG!!!!!

Some people are saying this is happening because of HDR, and if you disable HDR it will be ok, this information is wrong, it's happening with and whitout HDR, on every PS4 PRO the game is blurry, and once more, motion blur cannot be disabled, which is something important.

 

Since some people don't understand i want to make a comparison, hoping they will start understand of what is going on.

Yeah, the HDR and blurriness issues are two completely different issues. In fact, the HDR issue is also present in the XBOX 1X or whatever it's called.

held it from the time I hit X to lad the game and then again when it said hit x to start story.

Looks exactly the same.

I really want to know the REFRESH RATE of the TV YOU are using from EVERYONE who posts here. I can guess by some of the comments. But this is VERY important!!!!!

Uncharted 4 will look like sh*t in 4K at 120hz EVERYTHING looks like sh*t in “4K” at 120hz!!!!  Even XBOX1X GAMES!!! (1280p doesn’t show as bad at 120hz)

im about to start the 240hz and up thread because this information is a big mess in these threads without knowing every component you’re working with!!!

PERIOD.

There are no TV's in the world that have 240Hz in 4K mode. Thats just a marketing gimmick. They are advertising 240Hz with TruMotion enabled and thats something entirely different and that mode is usually disabled in game mode as it gives input lag. 

I have an LG C7 OLED 65" and thats a pretty insane TV.

Heres how it looks without HDR. Its pretty clear i feel except the treets in the back thats blurred out.

 

But taking picture even closer you see how blurry it is. I think this is 100% due to the checkerboard 4K not beeing perfectly implemented. 

Tried enabling TruMotion and using deblur but has no effect.

Wrong. EVERY OTHER 4K HDR game look NOTHING like this.

this is the first one I’ve seen with this problem.

again.... UNCHARTED 4 in 4K HDR looks amazingly sharp on my tv.

 

its the way ROCKSTAR “UTILIZED” checkerboard.

xbone guys... thanks for your input... we haven’t heard that one yet. And your controllers are garbage.

Here is God of War's checkerboard 4K which actually was said to be  not perfect but is heaps and leaps beyond RDR2.

I am very close to the TV here and i can see pigments of the skin clearly and i can make out every fiber of cloth that he wears...... 

This just proves that if Rockstar can patch this up PS4 Pro can look nearly as good just as good considering X and Pro uses same assets.

Of course it's true pretending the opposite will prevent sony from selling ps4 pro but you can have this swallowed up to beginners but not to people who know a minimum in hardware graphics and power when a game with a big drop of FPS you simply do not use anti-aliasing to smooth movements (blur).

In this case why have you signed an agreement with Sony and released the game on both platforms?
And oddly 4 days before the release of red deduction sony announces a date for the PS5 we must not take ourselves for fools.

God of war was a hallway game so it shows fewer elements at the scene so for it was possible to have a better quality but Red dead is an open world.

my TV is a Samsung 49' 1080p, my PS4 Pro is set to 1080p and it doesn't support HDR and I'm getting really bad artifacts when running about, it's mainly at the bottom of the screen, round the character and round the minimap? Is there really no fix for this?...

I think the noise now is Loud enough for them to fix it in some way

if this was any other game I wouldn’t be bothered 

but this is the game of the generation some people have been waiting 8 years 

this is rockstar there is no excuse the bar is high with them

espcially when you see games like god of war Spider-Man horizon and even Detroit look incredible 

 

the checkerbording  isn’t an excuse 

Sony marketed this game as lead on PS4 and “play in 4K”

i don’t care or want it to look as good as the Xbox one X because it can’t 

but I don’t expect some bullsh*t blurring issue which detracts from what is one of the best games ever made

and what’s even more annoying is between this intermitant blur I get the game looks stunning, it’s teasing me of what it SHOULD look like

hopefully now with people shouting loud enough and now that main outlets like IGN are reporting on it we should have a patch soon

J'aimerais savoir si d'autres personnes possédant la même configuration que la mienne ressentent une meilleure expérience avec 1080p et HDR OFF.

If in 8 years of development, you really believe that they have not seen the problem or the devs of rockstar should change them because it's big as a plane on ps4 pro the game is just lousy in HDR on tv last generation .

You spoil the gaming experience of all PS4 Pro players while they wait for the game for a long time seriously it is abused for a studio so saying that masters its subject.
